First of all, that guy is awesome... second of all I wanted to point out that SO MUCH of why bullshit like Pizza Gate and Q-Anon exists is because... the reality of liberals just isn't scary enough to rally against. The fact that democrats want to institute universal healthcare, something that has already been proven to work all over the world, isn't scary enough. That's actually a hard thing to argue against, so conservatives felt the need to just make up a bunch of shit to rally the stupid legions to their side.

I was talking to a friend earlier today about how a lot of republicans we know even have mostly liberal views... they think CEO's make too much, they don't care that gays can get married and aren't scared of universal healthcare... they vote Republican because they are sold on the anti democrat propaganda to one degree or another. There are also different levels of propaganda to scare people of different intelligence levels.... like, if you're dub as a box of rocks, there is Q-Anon. Republicans who are too rational for that are still often sold on the idea that dems want to mimic Mao's China or Soviet Russia.

A close friend, more like a son to me, is completely convinced that the Democrats are "Socialists" and are going to nationalize everything like they did in Venezuela. (He's from Venezuela, which is why I choose just not to talk about politics with him). He's a brilliant man, has a BS and MBA, speaks three languages fluently and has all kinds of work related certifications but there is no convincing him that all the Democrats are not socialists bordering on communists. He's gay, he's socially liberal, believes in treating people well, takes care of his parents, believes that everyone should have health care but he has a blind spot and has clearly been persuaded that one day, the "Democrat socialists" will take away his house, clean out his bank account and sell off his 401K.

WTF is an apparent medical emergency? I mean, I'm glad to see a terrorist die, but 'medical emergency' just sounds shady to me. Maybe they had a stroke, or fell off the wall they were trying to climb and landed on their heads, but 'suicide' by plutonium poisoning can also be a medical emergency.

There are signs the insanity is ramping up, too. On Tik Tok, people are making posts encouraging people to make chemical weapons. I do think tik tok would take this down if they could, because they hate Trump more than anybody, but it's just a difficult platform to police.

OK, but it happened in VENEZUELA, not the effing USA. Democrats have never advocated Venezuelan or Cuban style "socialism" because that's not democratic socialism. This bullshit from the right-wing has been going on since FDR, and it's way past goddamned time it stops. Taxation levels of 1960 and lifting the earning cap from Social Security and Medicare taxes would resolve most of this, but the GOP has people like Rose's Hispanic friend convinced Pelosi is Fidel Castro in drag. ENOUGH! The GOP needs to die as a party.

Pence is also obviously sulking right now. Anyone with a brain knows he was never a motivated or animated member of the "Trump Train". He joined because he wants to be President someday, and probably the easiest path to become President is to get picked up for a Vice-Presidency. That was his entire stake in this administration, IMO. And I think he realizes that Trump may have destroyed his chances of ever running successfully.

I live among Cubans, who have been reliably Republican since they decided JFK betrayed them at the Bay of Pigs. I get the "nonsense in this context" clarification, but the problem is that neither the Cubans nor the Venezuelans do. That many of them have no shared interest with the Republican party does not matter if you can manipulate them with that real fear. That's how Trump won Florida this last election.
