From what I have seen, in April 2019 he threatened suicide. In Sept 2019 he threatened to kill his family. At that time, the police came and removed a ton of knives (I forget the amount, but somewhere in the neighborhood of 15). Nothing else happened at that time as they did not press charges. Two months later his father sponsored him for an FOID (Firearm Owners ID) card, which was approved one month later in January 2020. He passed four background checks in 2020 and 2021.

He lived with his father and uncle in Highwood, in his grandfather's home. I don't believe the grandfather is still in the picture. His uncle claims that there were no warning signs. The shooter had his vehicle parked in the yard. The vehicle has assorted *oddities*. The front has simulated shark teeth on the front, 47 on the side, a 15 year old sex (his words as to the age) doll in passenger seat, 3 teddy bears in back, Trump bobblehead in back window, Pussy Magnet painted on the back. He created a video online of a simulated suicide/hanging of the sex doll. On the side of the house (not sure which of the two homes) he videotaped himself painting a life-sized titled "toy soldier" a human figure holding an assault rifle. In addition, he had another video titled "toy soldier" in which a badly drawn figure is shown to be shooting an assault rifle at what appears to be a public event to later be lying on the ground killed by police. Other videos are similar including one where he enters a classroom. One video is of THE street in the town area in which he committed his mass murder. There are a ton more of similar videos at YouTube in which apparently YouTube did not do anything, despite their algorithms which pull videos of people reviewing Nintendo games. He had 3500 posts on a website called documentingreality which is a gore site. He recently uploaded a beheading video. At said site, he has a post saying to kill all black people, specifically saying, "'I say we just get rid of the blacks all together".

In addition, in 2013 Mayor Rotering (the one that beat his pro-2nd Amendment father in 2019) led an effort to ban assault rifles in the town of Highland Park. The Illinois Rifle Association challenged it and it went all the way to the Supreme Court which declined to hear it in 2015. Clarence Thomas wanted to hear it, stating that the court should have been involved in protecting 2nd Amendment rights. The ban remains in place. I would bet the father's campaign was funded by the NRA. As I stated before he was beaten 72-26.

In the 2020 election, Lake County, of which Highland Park is seated, voted Biden-61, Trump-37.

Kamala Harris is now calling for a nationwide ban, which will have the likely expected result.

An interesting and terrifying analysis of the latest shooter, and similar cohorts. Obviously it's not an actual deep-dive analysis of his motives, mental health, etc... rather a look at what appears to be a partial motivation for these guys. I think it certainly could apply to this shooter, The Parkland High School shooter and the Uvalde Elementary School shooter, for example, and likely more to come.

One of the men dressed as such who took the time to sanitize his hands before flipping through his phone is beyond the pale.

What you need in situations like this is good guys who have not only guns but proper training in dealing with hostage and active shooter situations, along with a properly trained specialist local command team who are present at the incident to coordinate the operation and tell the good guys with guns what to do.

The horrid irony is that part or all of the Uvalde police force had recently gone through such training. Their failure to act is inexcusable and underlines the fallacy in the "good guys with guns" myth of controlling dangerous situations with guns.

I don't know what their training was, or what the exact sequence of events was, but it seems to me they all arrived there in the school and didn't know what to do next, which suggests that there was a serious failure in both the planning and the command structure.

They received active shooter training on March 21, 2022, 2 months, 3 days prior to the shooting. The shooter had crashed the truck at 11:28 and begun his way to the school. He shot at bystanders who approached him to assist as well as shot at some of the school windows during his approach. At 11:32 a teacher is screaming at children to get in their rooms. At some point during his five minute walk toward the school the school officer returned in his vehicle attempting to drive up to the shooter. He bypassed the shooter going directly toward a teacher instead. The killer entered the school at 1133 and began shooting the people in the classroom at 11:33:23.

The officers arrived at 11:36. There were a number of officers that did go toward the classroom door almost right away. To me, the turning point seems to have been when they tried to enter/get closer the killer fired some shots at 11:36:57 and they ran back with their tails between their legs. All of the officers that ran back were wearing armor and two of them had semi-automatic rifles, in other words had equipment equal to the suspect. I say this because in some circles we are hearing, "They only had pistols, what were they supposed to do?"

Even the killer seems to have gotten tired of their ineptitude. At 12:22 he is screaming at them, "Come inside, bitch. Come inside and let's do this." There is a bit more but I am unable to completely make it out. I think the word shootout is in there somewhere. They did not enter the classroom for another 28 minutes.
