Administrators at the Virginia school where a first-grader shot his teacher last week learned the child may have had a weapon in his possession before the shooting but did not seize the 9mm handgun he brought to his classroom, the school system’s superintendent said.

School system Superintendent George Parker told parents Thursday night in an online meeting that a school official was notified about the weapon before the 6-year-old shot the teacher at Richneck Elementary in Newport News.

“At least one administrator was notified of a possible weapon in the timeline that we’re reviewing and was aware that that student had, there was a potential that there was a weapon on campus,” the superintendent told parents, according to a clip of the meeting broadcast by WAVY-TV.

It's been a really crazy week in the Wild Wild West. First, in Kansas City, MO, a black teen is shot when he goes to the wrong house to pick up his brothers. Two days later, the homeowner/shooter is charged with two felonies.

Then, in upstate New York, a woman accidentally pulls into the wrong driveway. As she realizes her mistake and prepares to back out, the homeowner shoots her and kills her. He has been charged with murder.

Finally, wrapping up a trifecta of ammosexual insanity, a cheerleader in Texas accidentally nearly gets into the wrong car, realizes her mistake, and goes back over to her friend's car with her friends still isnide. The passenger of the wrong car gets out and approaches her car. When she rolls down the window to apologize, he pulled out a gun and opened fire into the car, grievously wounding two of the women. He was charged with deadly conduct.

Right before my Twitter account got suspended, I was in an argument with some nut who insisted that all of our gun problems would magically go away if we gave everybody guns, because "the good guys with guns would vastly outnumber the bad guys with guns." Like, really, dude? How well did that work in Uvalde?

The mental gymnastics these gun-humpers go through is staggering!

This is absolutely insane. In any other state a person who traps your car in their driveway as you're trying to pull out and then peppers your car with bullets would be arrested. Apparently not in Florida.

After realizing they are at the wrong house, the pair said they were about to drive away. Before they pulled away, however, the couple said they saw a flashlight and heard somebody talking to them.

“He’s like, ‘Who are you?’ and we’re saying we’re with Instacart,” D’arville told NBC Miami.

The man then got in his truck, according to the couple, and pulled up behind them. “I had seen him pull out a gun and that’s when I said, ‘We got to go, we got to go,'” D’arville said. “I was scared, I’m not going to lie.”

Without even reading the article, I'm going to take a wild guess that the Instacart couple are black. Had it been the other way around there, the shooter would have been arrested immediately, if not executed on site.
