I'm no psychologist, but I believe that after careful investigation the professionals will determine she was fuckin' nuts.A teenage female student was the shooter. That almost never happens. It'll be interesting to know what her motives were, if they're able to determine them.

Yeah, it sure is a shame. Thoughts and prayers, though! In Las Vegas, Milwaukee Bucks coach Doc Rivers opened a news conference Monday by talking about the shooting.
“Not a lot to say. Just a shame this keeps happening,” Rivers said,
Absolutely, especially for the aftermath of the 2026 mid terms when district #3 in every state reports the results:Don't want this thread slipping off the radar.

Memphis’s Fox 13 news station said it later spoke to the woman, who described to the outlet how Oreo “is a playful dog, and he likes to jump around and stuff like that, and it just went off”.
As a Brit, I'm in a pretty small minority in that I have no particular objection to people owning firearms, so long as they know what they are doing with them and can be trusted to behave responsibly and to store them safely and securely. Though I do understand the strength of the argument that the nuisance caused by our -- to my mind -- over-rigorous restrictions is more than justified by the need to avoid massacres like Dunblane and Hungerford. There really needs to be some type of basic intelligence/critical thinking test administered before you can buy a firearm. I say this as a gun owner.

However, it's horribly clear that a considerable number of Americans should never be allowed near a gun under any circumstances. I suspect that's the case of any nationality (I can think of plenty of Brits I know who I wouldn't want to be around if they had access to firearms) but it's only in the US where idiots have a constitutional right to amass arsenals of deadly weapons.
The P320 is garbage, has been since Jan 15 2014 the day it was foisted onto the market. It was temporarily paused for sale to allow for upgrades, specifically addressing concerns about accidental discharges when dropped. These concerns led some police departments to discontinue its use, but the firearm itself was not permanently taken off the market. However it can also go off being holstered.![]()
Sig Sauer, faced with lawsuits over a popular pistol, gets protection in New Hampshire
Faced with mounting lawsuits over a popular pistol, New Hampshire-based gunmaker Sig Sauer has gotten protection in the form of a new state law that makes it harder to take the manufacturer to court.apnews.com
I would think such a law would be the death knell for institutional sales of the whole brand by mandate of the insurers. The P320 is garbage, has been since Jan 15 2014 the day it was foisted onto the market. SiIG Sauer claims that many accidental discharges are due to negligence. However they issued a notice that they would upgrade all P320s to address the issue. The upgrade is described on the company's website as: "an alternate design that reduces the physical weight of the trigger, sear, and striker while additionally adding a mechanical disconnector." which sounds more like a design issue than negligence unless you are counting sloppy QA and design as negligence. Many law enforcement agencies has stopped carrying them and the 400 units ordered by the Canadian military sit in storage after an accidental discharge injured a soldier in 2020. They rolled back to using the P226.
Personally this state law is crap. Its like what if FORD had been given protection from lawsuits concerning the Pinto's fuel tank. If Ford has paused sales to correct the issue yet the new models continued to explode they would be safe under this kind of crap law. But Ford conducted a cost-benefit analysis that determined that the expense of correcting the fuel tank defect was greater than the cost of paying out potential lawsuits and settling claims and so the lawsuits were settled out of court after losing the Grimshaw v. Ford Motor Co. suit and were hit with punitive damages.

Isn't it more like suing car manufacturers because they sell cars with air conditioning that can poison you?“Do you want people to be able to sue car manufacturers because they sell cars that don’t have air conditioning?” state Rep. Terry Roy, a Republican from Deerfield, told the House during debate in May.
