Any unnecessary double-barreled backformations created by misunderstanding parts of speech.

Administrate (from Administer via Administrator), Burglarize (from Burgle via Burglar), and so on.

Another one: "triggered" as used by Twitter trolls and donnie Jr. (that's kind of the same thing). It mocks the actual meaning off the word.
I hope every bully who taunts anyone with that word gets to learn what it means for real.
I troll conservatives with it...

"Oh, fags want rights -- U TRIGGERED BRO?"

And I cringe when I see the word "Patriot" now. My guard is up til I see if the person using it means caring about what is good for ones country" or MAGAt bs.
Oh, I put that one on my cringe list years ago. Probably to the major annoyance of my brother who is a major pats fan.

"double down"

Nobody used that expression until 2016 unless in connection with a card game that nobody plays. Now it's everywhere and it's essentially meaningless.

"People First" as a name for HR
"the internet of things"

Fun fact: Trump means fart in UK.

Whenever I hear President Trump or Donald Trump, I hear President Fart and Donald Fart for a split second until my brain corrects it.
Makes me wonder what goes on in the Trump Building. :kittyball:

narrative, either it's a fact or a lie, if not sure yourself please use statement
But, how do I describe something that is a fact, but I want to pretend is a lie perpetrated by some vast conspiracy?

It's not one word, but recently I became aware just HOW MUCH I say the phrase "You know what I mean" and not I want to banish it to hell.

I have made a concious effort to stop saying it and when I slip, or accidentally say the variant "you know", it's often followed by a "damnit, I said it again".
