As a Democrat, I don't expect my candidates to be perfect. I'm sure they've all made mistakes -- both personal and political -- and blunders, and they've taken some stances I don't agree with or abandoned some stances (no-fracking, I'm looking at you) that I did agree with. What I'm looking for is a good faith effort to acknowledge problems, the confidence and competence to propose solutions, and a reasonable amount of personal integrity.
I find it amusing when Trump supporters pull out some tepidly unsavory detail for either Harris or Walz and scream "GOTCHA!!!" as if -- even assuming their allegation is true -- this sudden revelation would be deal-breaker for me as a voter. I mean, it certainly wasn't an issue for them with Trump, who can outcompete just about any other living politician for the most egregiously incompetent and corrupt behavior under the sun. If they can discount rape, Russian collusion, tax evasion, racism, misogyny, greed, stupidity, ignorance, meanness, and toxic narcissism, why would they think I'd clutch my pearls over anything they say about Walz or Harris?
