i can only guess, but since almost ALL opinions expressed here are from the left, this probably means that all people from the right (so 50% of the population) either doesn't respond here or has left, and they won't come back.

SL itself is kind of a massive bastion of creative progressive people. That doesn't mean there aren't conservatives in SL.

Current condition nswrvativism is already in its death throws in the world at large, it's not even "50%" interest, maybe 30% of the population.

Couple that with an already progressive space like SL, you are going to see a pretty small amount of Conservatives in that niche in general.

On top of that, VVO is not in the SL business. Cris isn't part of LL and hasn't got a stake in the larger picture of "selling SL". He is just a user like everyone else. Hell, part of the VVO branding was to move away a bit from SL as "the Metaverse" was becoming more popular. Be more about Virtual Worlds and not JUST SL like SLU was.

Except "the Metaverse" is already dead, because it was being pushed by a bunch of conservative libertarian tech bro types who didn't understand the market or product at all (surprise!) and were just trying to chase the next but money making scam.

But SL lives on, because LL understands it's audience and market because it's been around for 20+ years.

As for the forum and SL, SL is great, it's just not, super fast moving or super interesting as a sole topic. Plus, that discussion can be done, in SL. And we do discuss SL, there has been discussion on PBR etc.

As for games "banning politics", most of that is spurred on because half the time the discussion is some random troll coming in with a username like "GasPoweredKites88" who thinks their shitty troll opinions should b screamed as loud as they can and who thinks they are subtle just "discussing the topics" with their subtle jabs and username that are obviously intended to be secretly inflammatory.

Maybe the official forums is more your speed, with its people screaming about how every attempt by LL to make the platform better is awful because they insist on running SL on the same PC they used when they first signed up in 2004.

If people of the right would have a big population here, people of the left would be mostly missing. These points of views rarely coexist for long in forums.

I agree, if people from the right were in majority here, the people from the left would have left the forum. Anyway that means 50% of the people left here.

I know political forums on discord, they LOVE to argue and fight too, but there it's 50-50%, otherwise it's not funny if no one from the other side responds.

Wow, you're about 10 years too late to this discussion. VV (or SLU as some of us call it) has survived for years with Cristiano's formula. A lot of those who left got off on the wrong foot by making their FIRST POST about how shitty this board is and how we're all doomed to failure. That's been predicted. Repeatedly.

It never happened.

Please take a page from the rest of the board - you can express any opinion you want here, but Cris as the board owner has final discretion, like it or not. He owns the board and pays the rent (with a little help from some of us). There's nothing you can predict about the board that hasn't already been predicted and proven false. If you insult or belittle other posters, Cris will have the final say regardless of your opinions.

"Come into a new board where nobody knows me and first I'm going to tell everybody there how WRONG they are!" What a great strategy to get to know anyone and engage in a back and forth with intellectual honesty.

I'd welcome you to the board, but first a question: "What do you expect will happen now that you've established yourself as 'just another' complaining newbie?"

Gee, I missed our huge flameouts in '16 and '20. Everybody who was going to leave has already left. But there seems to be a large contingent of us who actually like this format and this board owner.

Like I said earlier, Cris created the Politics section years ago because Politics was infesting everything, including the SL-specific sections.

When he did that, some of which was due to posters' requests, the tenor and atmosphere of the SL sections lightened up markedly. So, yes, Politics and Religion is a MAJOR area of interest for SLU/VV users. To Cris' credit, he gave us a place where we can talk openly about things without annoying the non-political members among us.

You're waaaaaaaaaay late on your observation. In fact, nothing you've posted yet has been original in any way. You're still free to express it (as you have), but that does not come with a guarantee that anyone else will give a flying goddam.
