While we're on the subject: Anyone using a period tracker app, delete it! Most of them sell your data - intended for advertising purposes, but it's already been demonstrated, MULTIPLE times, that ANYONE can purchase the data, not just advertisers. That includes not just the authorities, but also anti-abortion groups and private citizens who want to use that data against "possibly pregnant" women. There are some good apps that don't sell your data, but there will be time to figure out which ones are which and you can always re-download once it's been verified that an app is one of the good ones.
It may seem like overreacting; lack of data privacy is nothing new, we all know that. But the stakes have just gone WAY up. It's not simply a matter of creepy invasive ads anymore.
