I'm cautiously optimistic about the Dems having taken the House, but still very disappointed in a large portion of the voting public. I'm sad that Beto couldn't pull it off, but the odds were against him.
I'm happy, so far, with my state's results. We kept Klobuchar. They failed to take Franken's seat. We kept our Governorship Democratic and we got our first female, Somali representative (my district). I had been a little worried about that as it was Ellison's old seat, but I didn't have to be as my district leans very, very blue. Dean Phillips beat Erik Paulsen. Angie Craig has a slight lead over Jason Lewis (the guy who pretended to be talking to people in his district when he was actually talking to his neighbors. Keith Ellison is in the lead for AG, but not decided yet, but the numbers look good. That doesn't mean some of those won't get much closer as the night goes on. Typically Mpls/St. Paul report first, then outstate trickles in and makes it closer.
The Republicans took two out of 8 seats, one of which is Bachmann's old heavily gerrymandered district. The other one is the Iron Range (traditionally heavily DFL) where the miners love that they're going to open up the Boundary Waters and other areas to mining.
