Goffstown is a blasé locale in New Hampshire. Most go there for the trampoline park, or to drive through to the mountains in the Western portion of the state - to ski, or just get away from Goffstown. It's long been run by pieces of shit like Gross. The Eastern part of the town is a suburb called Pinardville, and most of the people who live there prefer to believe they are a part of Manchester (which is just across the river).

But for Wells, that’s not the point. He cited Catholic author and activist Dorothy Day who said, “The Gospel takes away our right forever to discriminate between the deserving and the undeserving poor.”

31And when the Son of man shall come in his majesty, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit upon the seat of his majesty. 32And all nations shall be gathered together before him: and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats: 33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left.

34Then shall the king say to them that shall be on his right hand: Come, ye blessed of my Father, possess you the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me to drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in: 36Naked, and you covered me: sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me. 37Then shall the just answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry and fed thee: thirsty and gave thee drink? 38Or when did we see thee a stranger and took thee in? Or naked and covered thee? 39Or when did we see thee sick or in prison and came to thee? 40And the king answering shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me.

41Then he shall say to them also that shall be on his left hand: Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, which was prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me not to eat: I was thirsty and you gave me not to drink. 43I was a stranger and you took me not in: naked and you covered me not: sick and in prison and you did not visit me. 44Then they also shall answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not minister to thee? 45Then he shall answer them, saying: Amen: I say to you, as long as you did it not to one of these least, neither did you do it to me. 46And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the just, into life everlasting.

Not understanding why the owners aren’t being charged with anything.
They weren’t on a leash, all had drugs in their system, and on Reddit they’re saying the owners have more dogs at home.

That poor border collie.

Pit bulls that killed dog in Kamloops tested positive for meth, cocaine, says city

The community services manager for the city of Kamloops, Will Beatty, said the drugs were found in the dogs’ systems after they hopped a fence and mauled a 13-year-old border collie to death on Sept. 8.

I wondered how people like that can exist, but then I remembered this two-parter about growing up with a narcissistic parent:
These videos were brilliant. I know the tie-in was with Trump's narcissism and how it has entrapped his Maga disciples, but I found it personally relevant in a way that caught me by surprise.

<anecdotal sidetrack>
My father wasn't a narcissist per se, but he was definitely off-kilter in some milder dysfunctional way, and my mother played the same enabler/protector role of always trying to persuade me to "understand him" and to appease him regardless of the emotional cost to me as a child. I was the author's age, possibly a year or two younger, when I realized that my father was never going to play the part of a supportive parent. To me, he seemed more like an elderly cranky tenant who lived in our house and had to be tolerated for economic reasons. Once I left home, I was surprised at how easily I detached from even resentment or anger at his absentee-father behavior; he just wasn't relevant to my life anymore. Like the author, I felt nothing at his death. I poked and prodded at my inner self to see if I was just repressing emotions, but nope, there was no there there.

Must be some kind of sovereign citizen bullshit.
I've seen a few courtroom videos of these sad nutters. They all spout the same line of crap and generally in the same adamantly self-righteous way. Some try to smear a veneer of politeness over it, but it is a skinny veneer. (They might as well use clear plastic wrap.)

They are spectacularly ignorant of the realities of the legal system. I have seen several judges try mightily to save them from themselves, but the defendants manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. They invariably refuse all offers of counsel and almost always state that they do not need to be "re-presented" because they will "present" (get it?) themselves. They announce (ad nauseum) that they are "appearing sui juris and pro persona." Sui juris, as I understand it, means they are not under guardianship or conservatorship. They seem to think that it means the law does not apply to them or something. Pro persona is, apparently, a corrupted form of in propria persona. They claim, repeatedly, that they are not appearing pro se -- in other words, they claim not to be representing themselves -- but in propria persona means the same thing!

Their response to almost everything is "I object!" I have yet to see one of their objections be followed by a legal reason for their objection. "Objection, your honor, assumes facts not in evidence" is a valid objection. I saw one judge finally tell one of these idiots, "I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOUR OBJECTION!" Of course, the defendant objected. "SO APPEAL ME! CIRCUIT COURT JUDGES NEED TO PAY THEIR BILLS, TOO!" They truly do not understand that once a judge says, "Motion denied", that's the end of that discussion. The only place it can be resurrected is in an appeal to a higher court.

My theory is that to them, the legal system looks like some sort of bizarre ritual where an elite snob says a magic spell or a magic word (probably from the Book of Magic Jurisprudence Spells and probably in Latin just like in Harry Potter!) and, voila, "case dismissed!" "I was not operating a motor vehicle, I was exercising my 6th Amendment right by traveling!" "Well, crap, he said the magic words. We thought we had him this time, but he has outwitted us again. Case dismissed!" Never mind that the 6th Amendment does not say one single word about traveling - in fact, it is the amendment that guarantees their right to counsel!

They are a pointless clog in an already overloaded court system. If it did not so often have tragic consequences for the defendants, this sov cit nonsense would be comic. There's at least one case where a young man who seems quite intelligent and well-spoken insists on blathering this nonsense (which he got from his mother -- good job, Mom!) and manages to talk his way into a lengthy prison sentence. Drivers who would have gotten a warning instead end up arrested for obstruction of an investigation and resisting arrest -- sometimes assault gets thrown in there, too.

I've been stopped for an expired registration and I doubt I am unique here. I said, "Oops -- well crap, I'll get that handled right away" and that was that. With this devious strategy, I was able to avoid going to jail! I recommend it highly.

My dad was very smart but had what might be most politely called a "creative relationship" with facts. Much like Trump, he'd lie even if the truth would help him. The lies weren't about little stuff, either. I was about 40 before we discovered we probably weren't French, we were much more likely Scottish. He couldn't have been on Nimitz's staff when WWII broke out as he claimed -- Nimitz was moved to Pearl Harbor on December 19, 1941 to replace the guy who had been in charge of the Pacific Fleet. (Apparently, committing one of the most colossal screw-ups in American history is not good for one's Navy career.)

We think we have (or, at least, had) a half-sister who was the reason behind his rapid and youthful deployment with the Navy, but that info is from relatives "back home" who communicated mostly in innuendo and dark hints. (To be fair, they're Southerners -- asking if you want to go to Burger King for lunch is accomplished with innuendo and dark hints.)

We don't even know for sure how old he was. He lied about his age to get into the Navy (easily done in the 1930's) then lied again when he went to work for a big utility.

As I grew up I came to realize he had told so many lies for so long, even he had no idea what the truth had been. (This situation probably was not helped by long-term alcohol abuse.) How sad -- it's like Alzheimer's only it is contagious. As you said, Beebs -- there was no there there. When he passed, it was a big nothing.

We all have some narcissistic traits, in moderation it’s self-esteem.

my mum isn’t a full blown narcissist, I think she’s a bubblehead. In her little bubble but responds well to gentle reminders that other people exist.
