Screw the Official SL Forums.

Been here a long while - since it was SLU though not from the beginning of that one.

I've found that the majority of what people complain about concerning the official forum can be put down to a lack of self control or lack of an ability (or desire) to make use of the tools at their disposal.

If what the others are doing affects you ... My statement from my prior post stands: Fora in general really aren't for you.

Don't much like the moderation over there but it does not take much to avoid being on the receiving end of such.

I respect you for being blunt and direct.

I guess so. I chalk it up to a lesson learned. I joined it around the time PBR came out and argued that PBR was crap. Like I said, lesson learned. Please don't set me on fire. * /me tries to give PBR an awkward side hug but it doesn't seem to trust me and appears to not want to hug me back * Really, I learned that argueing about the techincal elements of SL is a completely pointless waste of time and is a great way to earn the eternal scorn and hatred of a large enough group of ppl to make for a completely miseribale experience. I'd much rather work on solving little problems here and there that improve things and engaging and light and slightly dumb banter.

I've walked away from forums in the past, including this one and the one over there.
Some times one can get overheated when too much involved in a particular subject. Stepping away for a few weeks, months, years helps a lot.
In the end it is all just forum talk.

That said: There are al lot of good people here and over there worth reading and communicating with. And there always are the scroll wheel on the mouse and the ignore button.

WeFlossDaily is correct about the SL forums. There are a handful of people who know how to skirt the line and be disruptive. I can only take it in small doses. There is one person who is omnipresent in every thread and says inane things for attention. There are others who just want to be contrary on every fucking topic. The recent rare banning of someone here who came from the SL forums was also an example of the toxicity certain people bring no matter the space. People like that can suck all the oxygen out if you let them. There are people worth reading there, some thankfully who are also here (Scylla Rhiadra and Innula Zenovka are top notch). By and large, I would rather deal will you people

Death by 1000 cuts is way harder to deal with then just getting burned. Idk why. Probably there are psychological reasons.

Anyway, with all that said, I'm done complaining about the other forums. I appreciate those who welcomed me greatly and those who have offered advice.

Over here PRS can be the tricky part. Over there the General discussion section tends to explode every now and then.
Over here it is almost all about everything but Second Life, over there it is only only about Second Life.

I don't post much here lately, but that doesn't mean I don't wear off my varifocal glasses here as well.
To me, both forums have their value.
