Which is pissing off his anti-abortion base. If they believe his stance has changed, then they are left without a candidate who reflects their one-issue focus, and they may well just sit this one out. If they believe he's lying to court more voters, it will also occur to them that you can't trust any position he takes, so again, voting for him is unlikely to get them what they want.He hasn't committed to voting for Amendment 4 in Florida, of course. But with this and his statements on IVF, Trump is suddenly the other Pro-choice candidate.
Yes. It's weird to me how many of the evangelicals think Trump is one of them. His base expects him to be the pro-life hero and to say so. But he is of course trying to play the classic politician game of not alienating the center. Harris needs to hit him harder on this issue and for being a flip flopper. The "flip flopper" label was so effective against Kerry, it traumatized democrats but we need to throw this back at Trump.Which is pissing off his anti-abortion base. He certainly acts like one, able to bloviate for hours on end about his 'Truth', instilling both fear and loyalty in the audiences he preaches at. He's of course without saying it explicitly, put himself into the role of god, sitting in judgement of any and all, above the law... speaking his delusional 'truths' into reality through volume, repetition and divisive fear/loyalty that panders to tribal unity and the 'othering' of outsiders/lessors.It's weird to me how many of the evangelicals think Trump is one of them.
If they're just now realizing that Trump lies every time he opens his mouth, well... We did warn them.Which is pissing off his anti-abortion base. Trump wants to make the GOP a 'leader' on IVF. Republicans' actions make that a tough sell
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is vowing to force health insurance companies or the federal government to pay for IVF treatments, a proposal at odds with the actions of much of his own party.apnews.com

Florida is reportedly sending police officers to the homes of people who signed a petition supporting an abortion rights ballot initiative.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s administration has begun investigating thousands of verified signatures that helped to put a state constitutional amendment protecting the right to abortion on the ballot in November. The amendment would overturn Florida’s current six-week abortion ban.
I'm quite okay with that.Honestly, all of this is going to drive women to the polls in even great numbers, along with more men since they're often in the "accomplice" category. You would think these fascists would lie low until after the election, to give Trump a chance, but no, they're going to make sure he loses.
I'm hopeful. We have a history of voting for slightly left leaning ballot initiatives even though many keep voting for republicans... A lot of rural Missouri voters I know are pretty left politically, but still are going to vote for Trump because that's what their whole community is doing. Can't say I get it...Good news for Missourians.

Abortion-rights measure will be on Missouri's November ballot, court rules
The Missouri Supreme Court has ruled that an abortion-rights measure will be on the state’s November ballot.apnews.com
The more abortion access is jeopardized, the more women turn to sterilization, according to a new report in JAMA that drew on health insurance claims of nearly 4.8 million women in the US.
In states that enacted total or near-total abortion bans following the US Supreme Court's Dobbs decision in June 2022, the rate of sterilizations among reproductive-age women that July spiked 19 percent. A similar initial spike was seen across the nation, with states that either limited or protected access to abortions seeing a 17 percent increase.
But, after that, states with bans saw a divergent trend. The states that limited or protected abortion access saw sterilization procedures largely level off after July 2022. In contrast, states with bans continued to see increases. From July 2022 to December 2022, use of sterilization procedures increased by 3 percent each month.
