Not only do they want to dissolve my marriage, they want to make my relationship with my wife illegal.
They won't stop there. They want to make us illegal, just for existing. Back in the closet, or dead. Those will become our options.

It's time for direct action. Mass protests, civil disobedience, general strikes, and more.

I still think if we can make it to the next election, we can maybe head off the actual government being overturned; but not the fighting.

Hanging on to either branch of Congress, especially the Senate, seems like a black swan event at this point. But... 🤞

If it wasn't that so many gop seats are up for grabs, I'd agree, but the senate cycle isn't on the same two year schedule that the House is [in that, it doesn't tend to lose seats based on who's in the White House, but simply by which party has the largest number of seats up for grabs.

Fucking papists. The lot of them should have been impeached for being members of an organization that covered up child rape.

And now they're ensuring that -more- desperate, unplanned, unwanted children will be born? What... did hte priests not have enough victims already?

Fuck SCOTUS.

I think this might have just killed my relationship with my mom. I don't know her anymore, and after hanging up on her, I told her that in an email.

I'll prolly be disowned, but I don't care. My ideals and principles - principles I learned from her - are more important to me than making her happy.

Supposedly? They both have more compassion and love in their little fingers for their fellow man than the whole lot of these evangelicals, you know as one of the two greatest commandments issued by Jesus?

Its not 'Papists' doing this - its foolish fucking pseudo christians who think that the evangelists will give them a seat at the table when they over throw the country and make it a theology. And in that I'm throwing every fucking conservative Priest, Bishop, Monsiegnor, Arch Bishop and Cardinal who have effectively ex-communicated any Catholic who is standing up for a secular government that serves all of us and not just -them-.

Remember, Ireland is a Catholic Country - and look at -their- laws on abortion [they made it legal.]

And I believe one or both have been refused communion for putting country over religion.

Conspiracy Hat Time!

So just to preface, getting rid of Abortion is the goal, but its not the ENTIRE goal right now. It may not even be the "true goal".

Its very clear, the Jan 6th comittee has the GOP's number. They are building the proper story in all the right ways and its going to slaughter the GOP in the end (hopefully).

So what can the right assholes do?

Oh! How about we overturn Roe V Wade.

SURELY that will cause the "Left Extremists" to march in and break down the Supreme Court right? Surely! Then they can point to it and say, "SEE! SEE! SAME THING!"

There has already been idiocy on Twitter about AOC "Inciting insurrection" by encouraging ACTUAL proper protesting.

DHS, which is full of right wing idiots is already "warning" of "extremist retalliation" or some shit.

Funny enough, its also just another page from Putin's playbook, used recently. Poking at vague threats outside of Ukraine in hipes of getting direct involvement by the EU and US so he can point to hiw "everything was true, they are attacking now!"

Actually abortion is legal in Ireland since 2018. The case of Savita Halappanavar changed that: she was a 31 year old wife, giving birth. She was having a miscarriage, but doctors were not allowed to do an abortion back then as long as the baby has a heartbeat. She died giving birth.

So yes, it's legal there since some time, which happened due to tragic events. But it shows one important difference between Ireland and the USA: the Irish politicians were able to learn from their mistakes. The US politicians are not.

Also: abortion is now illegal in Arkansas, Kentucky or Louisiana. Even if the woman was raped. Fuck yeah, god's own country, exceptional and defender of Western values! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I thought the main electoral group in the US opposed to abortion were evangelical Christians -- that is, extreme Protestants -- rather than Catholics:

While there are many factors that could shape people’s views on abortion, including personal experiences and politics, religious teachings are a major consideration for many Americans. Overall, 36% of adults say that religion is either “extremely” or “very” important in shaping their views about abortion, with members of certain Christian groups especially likely to say this is the case.
White evangelical Protestants stand out: 73% say religion is at least “very” important in shaping their views on abortion, including about half (52%) who say it is extremely important.

Catholics are significantly less likely to say religion is important in shaping their views: 41% say it is important, including 21% who say it is extremely important. And White non-evangelical Protestants are even less inclined to link religion with their opinions on abortion.

The problem with the Supreme Court Justices isn't that they're Catholics but that three of them were selected by Donald Trump because of their hostility to Roe vs Wade, in order to please his White evangelical pro-Life base.

("Papist" is also a term of abuse that, in the UK, I'd associate with bigots like the DUP, who are probably the closest thing we have here to mainstream US Republicans. They certainly don't approve of abortion, in contrast to Sinn Fein, the party supported by most NI Catholics, who have supported the British government's attempts to bring NI abortion law into line with that of the mainland UK).
