Why is it so hard to barr the doors and quarantine them inside? In contrast...
You know they really fucked up something when an US governmental body complains about the envirnmental impact of whatever it is...An unusual achievement: So much tear gas has been used in Portland recently, that the city's officials fear it polluted the water.

Yes, I remember that. It happened at the 4th Precinct, my precinct, after the Jamal Clark shooting. The protests were peaceful, then some neo-nazis came in toting their guns and pointing them at protesters. I don't remember the cops going after them part, though, but I may have missed that. Not long after they came in with bulldozers in the middle of the night and removed all of the protester's belongings. While there ARE asshat cops, a lot of them do worry about their armed "fans". So long as all they're doing is S&M (Stand & Model) they're willing to cut them some slack - and still will, but about strike 3 they will have to come down on them. This is strike 1. Nothing will happen, though until it becomes a trend.
Same thing happened in Minneapolis a few years back over a police shooting. Nightly protests at one of the police precincts by a couple dozen blacks for a few weeks. I wouldn't say everything was chill, but it rarely went beyond words. Then a neo-nazi kid and friends got stupid, did some shooting but no one was hurt IIRC, and the cops really went after that piece of white trash.
You probably have that right. My memory there is a bit foggy, and your recollection sounds about right for the MPD. They probably classified the protest camp as an "attractive nuisence", giving themselves an excuse to get rid of it.Yes, I remember that. Well, color me surprised!
Something is going on in Minneapolis. A man shot himself dead, looting downtown, 5,000 national guard soldiers, still confused. Phone went crazy with a warning tone twice. Thought it was a storm.
Something crazy going on. Local stations are kare11, wcco, kstp, mpr for those interested in following. Twitters probably up too. It's far away so going to bed, way past my normal bedtime.
So in Fox world, committing murder is "maintaining order". May these people rot.
Yes, there was a shooting in the 9th/10th Street ramp (there was a murder in the 7th Street one the other day) and the suspect shot himself in the head at 8th/Nicollet, captured on camera, as the police closed in on him.Something is going on in Minneapolis.
