Coca-Cola has a new flavor called "Starlight", which the bottle unhelpfully elaborates is "Space Flavored". It's a limited-edition flavor and it comes in a Zero Sugar variety too, which is the one I'm trying.

It's difficult to tell exactly, but space apparently tastes like a combination of cola and cream-soda, and the soda being just a tinge reddish might back that up. It's not SO bad. I might get another one now and then while they're around. But I'm not a regular cream-soda fan at all, so it's not a flavor I'm really gonna miss when it's gone I think.

A local breakfast place has a typical menu of pancakes, omelettes and stuff. Today they added something different, enchiladas with scrambled eggs and beans. It was tasty.

It reminds me of New Mexico stacked enchiladas. They are SO tasty.

I just had an early dinner at a Ukranian restaurant in my area that I never noticed until recently. It was a bit pricey, but totally worth it. I started out with borscht, then goulash, then baklava and hand made pistachio ice cream. Ukranian food all seems to have hearty vegetable stock seasoning with everything. Like, they seem to use vegetable stock the same way Indians use curry. There's also at least a hint of black pepper in everything, even the tea. I had Russian tea with my meal, which was a nice black tea, with a hint of black pepper.

10/10 would recommend.

Here's a photo of the goulash. It was chunks of beef, chicken, lamb, and potatoes, with some other vegetables in a vegetable stock gravy that tasted like reduced borscht.

So I made traditional Gado Gado last night and I added some tempeh because I thought my husband would want more protein. I have cooked with tofu before but not tempeh. The recommendations I saw were to brown it in oil in a frying pan so that's what I did. Maybe I didn't cook it long enough?

The Gado Gado was awesome but either my husband or I could eat the tempeh, it was just horrible. The texture, was very dry, like eating compacted sand. What did I do wrong? I've looked up numerous recipes and most of them say to do the same so maybe we just don't like tempeh?

Edited to ask if it's possible that the tempeh I bought at the store may have been old or not processed properly?

Don’t have any advice for you but I was going to try cooking some myself not too long ago (but finally decided on buying tofu instead) and looked it up on Reddit and judging by the title of this post, you’re not alone…

Tempeh should be prepared next to the bin.
It can go straight in there after cooking as far as I'm concerned.

I don't like that stuff either.

I'm 2nd generation Irish, and my cousins, in Ireland, think Disney's list of St Patricks day Irish food is the funniest thing in the world.

Oh yeah, over there in Ireland, they're all excited to have their St Paddys day corn dogs, and wash them down with the traditional St Paddys day watermelon cooler, and have a nice Irish woopie pie for desert!

I mean, lets be honest, the Irish aren't exactly known for their culinary excellence, unless you really like stew, but this stuff isn't even a little bit Irish.
