Do you remember back in 2017 when this report came out that said the Pentagon spent five years funding UFO research? Well, the private company that got the contract to carry out the "research" is owned by this Las Vegas billionaire who believes that UFOs, ghosts, bigfeet, and other weirdness are all hallucinatory mind-games being played on humans by basically extradimensional elves who just like f'ing with us for pleasure, and the company's foundational mission is to prove that.

But that isn't even the funny part.

This part, where the Pentagon says it was canceled:

"The Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program ended in the 2012 time frame," the Pentagon told ABC News in a statement. "It was determined that there were other, higher priority issues that merited funding and it was in the best interest of the [DOD] to make a change. The [DOD] takes seriously all threats and potential threats to our people, our assets and our mission and takes action whenever credible information is developed.“

....is apparently BS. I mean, it WOULD BE a very good reason for stopping it if true (honestly if you ask me, it would be a very good reason for not starting in the first place), but apparently the real reason it was canceled is not because it was a waste of money, but rather because the senior US military leadership, many of whom are members of the death cult you mention, believe that UFOs are piloted by demons and investigating them too closely could accidentally bring Satan into our world.

My grandmother had given it to her, she didn't wear it any more, asked me if I wasn't this gorgeous cuff covered in what looks like aquamarines and I said 'YES!!!!', then noticed its a peacock motif, so bonus - then the time, which appeals to the history geek in me, as well as the music geek. Well she's MP for Maidenhead. According to this artice: The UK’s most expensive towns outside London maidenhead falls just outside of being a "million pound town" which is to say a town in which the average price of a house is a million pounds. So I suspect her voters mostly love her.

It's a bit different in countries like Australia and the UK, since in a parliamentary democracy the Prime Minister, whoever she or he is, is the member of the legislature who commands the support of the majority in parliament (that is, generally, the leader of the largest party, supported if necessary by smaller groups like the Democratic Unionists in the UK).

So,, while I'm not quite sure what you mean by "home city" in this context, Theresa May has to enjoy the support of the particular constituency she represents (Maidenhead, in Berkshire, which is very safe Conservative territory). She was brought up primarily in rural Oxfordshire, I think (her father was an Anglican vicar), which would also be stereotypically Tory.
