Deputies say when they got closer, Parrish uttered, "Yeah, I did it.... because he wouldn't shut the f*** up."

As she was being placed in handcuffs, JSO says she said, "I gave him just enough to shut him up and called y'all, so he wouldn't die...do whatever you want but if you don't take me I will kill him."

Deputies made contact with the victim, who they say appeared extremely lethargic. He reportedly told deputies he was unsure why he was so tired.
Yeah, well, we've all been there at some point or other in our lives. :voodoo: My ex was just lucky I didn't have any weapons handy.

By way of comparison, this was reported yesterday:

A protester who set fire to police vehicles during a riot that followed a “kill the bill” demonstration in Bristol has been jailed for 14 years.

Ryan Roberts led chants of “ACAB: all cops are bastards” outside Bridewell police station on 21 March before throwing cans, bottles and placards at officers, as well as verbally abusing and kicking them.
The 25-year-old, who had taken cocaine and been drinking, then smashed windows of the police station, Bristol crown court was told.

Roberts, of no fixed address, was also caught on film pushing pieces of flaming cardboard under two police vans and placing industrial bins around an already partially burnt-out police car and setting them alight. He told an officer inside one of the vans he would “go bang”.

He smashed in the windows of a mobile police station and encouraged the crowd to help roll it over, before setting light to the cab while hundreds of people were close by.

Giving evidence, Roberts said he got “carried away” fighting for freedom of speech during a protest against the government’s police, crime, sentencing and courts bill.

I don't understand how it is that Gaetz is still in office. The guy is a pedophile.

Why isn't Gaetz just frigging gone?

Same reason no one seems terribly interested in prosecuting any of Epstein's friends and clients?

That is, he's white and very wealthy (or his father is)?

I think it might be more that as a sitting member of Congress, its harder to do much until he leaves office?

Though, as a seditious member of congress, he ought not be allowed to -be- in Congress.

Does he enjoy any sort of immunity from either state or federal prosecution because of his office? I ask because I know in some places elected representatives can't be prosecuted, though not in others. We prosecute sitting Members of Parliament, for example.

No immunity, but there is no law preventing a criminal from holding office either.

I'm not sure, entirely. I mean, I know the sitting President is immune from certain things, which could explain why someone was so desperate to stay in office. I can't imagine any other reason to not at least pretend to investigate Gaetz on charges of doing illegal drugs, sex with minors or anything else he's been implicated in, other than a level of immunity.
