Yep, them and the Heritage Society, with the Federalist Society being more culpable and effective, though they usually work in tandem. Ever take a look at just how many of our current Supreme Court judges are current and/or former members? It's not just tied to the Supreme Court, either. Many of those Federal judges also have ties.
Dated 2017 and all following justices have clear ties, and three of them have ties to the Bush legal team in 2000. Roberts, Kavenaugh and ACB.
It feels an awful lot like the rich and powerful version of the "old boy" society and almost as if they cannot make their bones without espousing the Federalist Society views of how our justice system should work as well as reading of the Constitution. One thing they espouse is that the Constitution is to be read literally, as though it is not a living document, calling themselves originalists as though our forefathers could have foreseen a man sitting as a sniper in a hotel in Las Vegas killing 70+ people within under a minute. That, by any definition, does not mean anything remotely close to a well-regulated militia.
We have Amendments made for a reason in that our original Constitution was deficient, particularly in civil rights areas regarding slavery, voting rights, rights of an accused person and so on. It is meant to be revisited, not thought of as the be all and end all.
The Federalist Society is one of those incredibly outsized power organizations intent upon keeping those in power, in power.
