Understood, yes, I know, of course, but SRSLY, Trump’s children know absolutely that they must communicate with him in this manner to remain in his grace. They are, after all, nothing without him. They also must know that he’ll happily let them rot in jail but they’re foolish enough to take the risk.

You cannot be, like, defending Trump's offspring using the Daddy's Bestest Chewbacca defense. Are you?

Not defending in the sense of excusing their behaviour, and not demeaning the legal importance of the discovery, but noting that such behaviour seems normal and sane to them and, frankly, half of the US population.

Is that a sugar daddy Chewbacca argument? I’m unfamiliar with the term. Does Chewbacca have children?

CNN has obtained text messages of separate conversations that then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows had with Republican Sen. Mike Lee of Utah and Republican Rep. Chip Roy of Texas after the 2020 presidential election and through early January 2021.

The messages reveal how two GOP allies of then-President Donald Trump lobbied and encouraged the White House in its efforts to overturn the election. The text messages were obtained by the House select committee and reviewed by CNN.
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States...

It's meaningless to them.

"Section 3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may, by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability. "

Why are these people still in office [though at least two have had motions to remove them from ballots]

So, a federal judge has said that Georgia voters may move forward to get MTG removed from the ballot by virtue of the 14th amendment sedition clause.

Now if only we can get the rest of them removed..... traitors.

Judge allows suit challenging Marjorie Taylor Greene's reelection bid (msn.com)

Washington — A federal judge on Monday paved the way for an effort to disqualify GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia from running for reelection over her role in the January 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol to proceed.

The challenge to Greene's candidacy was mounted by a group of five voters from her congressional district who argued she is ineligible to run for federal office under a provision of the 14th Amendment that was ratified after the Civil War and meant to keep former Confederate officers and officials from holding public office again.

In a challenge filed with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in late March, the voters argued Greene "voluntarily aided and engaged" in the January 6 insurrection to obstruct the peaceful transfer of power, thereby disqualifying her from serving as a member of Congress under the constitutional provision.

Greene asked a federal court in Atlanta to intervene in the effort from the group of voters, seeking a preliminary injunction and temporary restraining order. But Judge Amy Totenberg of U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia rebuffed Greene's request, finding she failed to establish a strong likelihood of success on the legal merits of the case.

Oh man, I still feel like I share some responsibility by putting this phrase into the universe as a title.
Why do you hate being right?

I keep "hearing" Springsteen when I see that title, I like it!
I try to sing it, but considering born is in the past tense, I end up with "Cooed in the USA."

Pigeon problems.
