Trump supporter Chad Clark is facing up to five years in prison after his arrest for posting an online ad the day before the attack on the US Capitol calling for “patriots” to kill election officials and politicians.

On Friday, the Department of Justice (DoJ) announced it had charged a 54-year-old Trump supporter, Chad Stark of Texas, for allegedly sending “threatening election-related communications” targeting Georgia state officials and election workers the day before former President Donald Trump’s attempted coup of January 6, 2021. If convicted, Stark faces a maximum five-year prison sentence.

Along with the bulk of the Republican Party, Stark promoted Trump’s “stolen election” lies following his electoral defeat.

No, the non-Trumpist part of the Republican party is tired of dealing with him, so they are starting a coordinated opposition. It's no coincidence that Pence and McConnell both came out with similar statements.

My guess as to the timing is that the Georgia special grand jury, which will be focused solely on his election tampering, is now going forward. The Justice Dept and Jan 6th committee investigations have got far enough up the food chain to be getting close to TFG. So they can do this now, and claim leadership, rather than after indictment, when they would be seen as rats leaving a sinking ship.

Oregon has been on mail in ballots for over 20 years. No fraud to speak of here in all that time. So, it really wouldn't bother any of us if the machines were to go away and mail ins were the thing.

He might think he is "owning the libs" with this but, the reality is he would actually be helping "the libs". So.... let him.
