Satellite image shows the Eaton wildfire has set nearly every building in western Altadena on fire.
Not to mention, none of the fires currently burning in LA County are in forests!Just a reminder for anyone dealing with MAGAdiots barking 'CA didn't clean their forest floors like trump told them too! the fires are their own fault!'
Tell'm to STFU because nearly half of the forested land in CA is owned by the FEDERAL government, and TFG didn't do a damned thing about 'raking the forest floors' while he was in office and blaming us for our wildfires.
Can't you all...keep the streets raked? Not to mention, none of the fires currently burning in LA County are in forests!
I read Parable of the Sower within the last year, and it's grim.I am utterly devastated by the Los Angeles wildfires, shaking with rage and grief. The Altadena community near Pasadena, where the Eaton fire has damaged or destroyed at least 5,000 structures, was my home for 14 years.
I moved my family away two years ago because, as California’s climate kept growing drier, hotter and more fiery, I feared that our neighborhood would burn. But even I didn’t think fires of this scale and severity would raze it and other large areas of the city this soon. And yet images of Altadena this week show a hellscape, like a landscape out of Octavia Butler’s uncannily prescient climate novel “Parable of the Sower.”
Climate change getting "worse" actually means the weather events are less predictable and more on the extreme ends of a curve, as you indicate. The R's are just desperately seeking ways to turn the Climate Change debate around, like how Trump thinks it's related to raking forest floors.Yes, but its also... Getting worse, because Climate Change. This fire right now, is the middle pf fucking Winter. And its rapidly spreading because of the extra crazy wind caused by more extreme weather from Climate Change.
Gibson said he felt "ill at ease" during his visit to Austin, Texas, to appear as a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience, because he knew his neighbourhood was "on fire".
[snip]
In the podcast with Rogan, Gibson criticised the California governor, saying Newsom claimed he was "going to take care of the forests" but "didn't do anything".
Good lord.Aerial photos show the scope of destruction from the Pacific Palisades wildfire
Street after street, there is little but dark ash and ruin where a wealthy seaside enclave favored by celebrities once stood.apnews.com
