The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers just opened up two California dams. A spokesperson says the flows are 'controlled' and being coordinated with local officials.

I get that there's outrage over "1000 fire fighters that weren't deployed" but there could be all sorts of reasons for that. If you deploy everyone all at once, who's going to work the 2nd and 3rd shift? Who's going to be available if another fire crops up somewhere else?
