I get that anger, that fear, the despair. I really do. I felt it myself for so long, since 2016, even. I still feel bits of it sometimes, but it's different now. I have so much to live for yet, and I'm not letting anyone take that away from me - not without a fight!
The future isn't written yet. Beyond voting and contacting our representatives, we as individuals have
no real control over what happens in federal politics. So don't worry or panic about it. (I'm not trying to be flippant, I swear!

) Be
aware of events, but don't let them dominate your thoughts. It's hard to do, and I wish I had better advice. I struggle with it too. Therapy helps. (The merits and pitfalls of representational democracy, American style, is a whole 'nother thread.)
I'm just gonna link this here instead of posting the whole thing twice:

But this is the tl;dr part.
To sum up:
If we fight, we might lose.
If we give up, we will lose.
Nobody knows the future, and if somebody says they do, they're trying to sell you something.
Don't give up. Don't give in. This isn't over.
I'll add this: Plan ahead for the worst however you can. At the same time, do what you can locally, even if it's something small - something that'll give you hope, something to fight for.
