The two main ridiculous attacks I am seeing are these:

1) At 29, Harris had a relationship with Willy Brown while he was married (but separated). He was 60 at the time. His backing, even after their relationship ended, did provided a boost for her. Still, they are saying she only got into the positions she did because she slept her way there. Typical misogynistic bullshit, and they don't really want to play the cheating card (which she didn't even do). Special mention of the fact that she has no kids, another misogynistic attack line.
2) This one is particularly dumb. She can't be president because her parents were not citizens at the time she was born. She was born in Oakland, CA. They are fucking morons.

I'm hoping that the problem was Clinton herself, rather than her gender, that tipped the scales. Which is not to say that misogyny doesn't play a part in U.S. politics, but maybe, just maybe, it's not an automatic death knell for a candidate.
The Right (and its predecessor) was after Hillary from the days Bill was in office, just like they've been after Biden and will soon be after Harris as well. The shitload of negative ads mount up over time. Hillary had a lot of them, Harris has very little. Good for us, even if it won't last.

I hope we're past all that now - Harris is a competent person, an experienced prosecutor and now has the full playlist for the next administration. I expect her to hit the ground running after she wins. Big plus: She's 59.

Her opponent may be the weakest Repub candidate in decades, with more flaws than a teenager with pimples. The Joe Biden of 10 years ago could have roasted his orange face easily. Now, it's Kamala's turn at the rostrum. She has my vote for damned sure.

I am honestly surprised how quickly support has coalesced behind Harris. That is encouraging. Honestly, the democrats would be fucking insane to pass over the opportunity to have the first female and first black and asian president in favor of a white candidate. As much as I like Newsom, I would love to see him or Gretchen Whitmer as VP, not the head of the ticket. Mark Kelly is a bold choice too to help solidify AZ.

I would love to see Newsome move up, but Mark Kelly is a solid choice, already well known with a heart rending backstory.

Please! Take my vote now before the next shitstorm comes barreling down the plains.

Also, Hillary took a hit for standing by Bill and her marriage. Trump on the other hand can't keep his mushroom in his pants but boys will be boys. You can't be a Trump supporter without being brain dead and a hypocrite.

Newsom does have some baggage, and two California politicians on the same ticket might not play well. An all female ticket with Whitmer would be interesting, she was an incredibly popular governor of a swing state.

I love the double standards of the Right.

Hillary stayed in her marriage - her decision.

Melania also stayed in her marriage but then she refused to show up at her husband's events. After PA, we understand why.

Without double standards, the right has no standards at all.

Veritable mentioning attacking Trump's vanity in another thread made me think of the perfect VP:

Jimmy Kimmel

No one has gotten under his skin quite as much. He got the entire audience of the Oscars to laugh at Trump on live tv. He was still seething months later.

Shapiro is also being floated, though I know nothing about him. Obviously, Michelle Obama is the dream but that is never going to happen.
Michelle is to the Right as Sean Hannity is to us, except prettier and smarter.

Shapiro is personable, intelligent and would make a wonderful pick. But I think they're looking ahead to 2028, or at least they should be. Gotta rest your pitchers or you'll run out of pitching. :)

The more I think about this, the more I like Mark Kelly. But with my history I'm sure it'll probably be someone I never heard of.

It was brilliant!

For that one victory, he deserves mention! :devilish:

At this point, with the potential of Harris as President, they might have to think about 2032 now.

In case anyone else was puzzled

I was wondering about the "coconut" reference, because it has a very different connotation in the UK
