Dozens of labor unions have resolved to consider a general strike after Nov. 3 should President Donald Trump refuse to accept the results of the election or sabotage the counting of ballots, with organizers calling a work stoppage "the most powerful tool the movement has" to protect democracy.

The 100,000-member Rochester-Genesee Valley Area Labor Federation in New York was the first union federation to adopt a resolution this month stating that it would prepare for and hold “a general strike of all working people, if necessary, to ensure a constitutionally mandated peaceful transition of power as a result of the 2020 presidential elections."

The resolution also stated the federation would lobby other labor organizations including the AFL-CIO, which represents 12.5 million workers, to consider a general strike if the president attempts to subvert the election results.

People get their voting pass in the mail. No voters registration needed. All done by the local administration automatically.
Some hang a poster behind a window. Most don't.
Watch one or two debates (or not)
Maybe one or two leaflets in the mail.
On election day:
Walk to the polling station. Cast your vote within minutes.
Short discussion about the weather with someone you know and coincidentally meet.
Walk back home
Watch the results in the evening/late night/early morning.
Trash the poster.

That's how it is in Minnesota as well, except for the registration - just wave your driving license or a utility bill with your name on it to prove local residence at the polling place to cast a vote, but if you voted in the last four years you are automatically registered. This year we all had ballot requests mailed to us and we had to mail it back or go online to get a mail in ballot. The voting instructions were very clear, and I was clearly warned to check the back which I always do anyways. I dropped mine off at a drive through voting location and there was no line. A week later I checked online and it was confirmed my ballot was accepted. I had to park outside a coffee shop and use their wifi to check out the ballot measures and local candidates before casting my ballot but was done in 10 minutes.

I can't speak for the rest of the country or the third-world wannabe states, however.

In NJ I don't even have to wave anything. I just tell them my name and they look it up in a printout for voters in my district which I sign next to.

In NJ you need to register to vote before going to the polling place. It was by October 13th for this election.

Pennsylvania is not a great state to be living in right now. My anxiety is through the roof. I plan to do some phone banking tomorrow, although I hate it. I'm working as a poll worker on Tuesday. I've encouraged my not-overly political friends to VOTE.

I'm still really terrified that evil son-of-a-bitch and his minions will win again. Or...not win, but steal this election. He keeps talking about winning through the Supreme Court. I worry that's exactly what's going to happen. WE'LL vote him out, and THEY'LL give him the office back.

America has no watertight election legislation to protect itself against what is likely gonna happen after election day.
Only thing that might prevent a major troublesome bumpy ride with uncertain outcome IMHO, is an unprecedented Democratic landslide, preferably in almost every single state. But I doubt that will be the case.

The constitution says state legislatures decide how to run elections, and the Texas legislature already approved of drive through voting, before the Texas SC did as well. The federal courts have no jurisdiction over state elections. What the legislature decided should stand.

If we‘re pretending we still have rule of law, yes. What the GOP is arguing is that *only* state-level government entities have the right to make election rules/law (this has never been the case) so counties don't have the right to make their own rules. This is based on Kavanaugh’s recent disgraceful argument. However as the Texas SoS approved this, there is no case here. Not that I expect that to matter if they try to press forward.
