My best theory so far is that old people are just slow. As you get old, your mind starts to slip, and you start thinking things like medical bankruptcies aren't a problem, and we should make all college students into indentured servants to bankers for eternity, and private prisons are awesome, and civil rights are bad.

Sorry, I wish I had a better answer for you, but that's all I got. I know there must be more to it than this, but these old boomers are inscrutable. Nothing angers them more than simple, direct questions like, "why?"

Why did so many young Sanders supporters fail to vote?

My best theory so far is that young people are just flakey. When you’re young,, your mind is almost wholly taken up by beer pong strategies and your attention span is limited to the length of a Tik Tok video, and you start thinking things like voting is when now? and it’s all so complicated! and can’t we just do it on our phones? When they are especially immature, they start blaming older people cuz they actually, like, vote. And think practically.

Sorry, I wish I had a better answer for you, but that's all I got. I know there must be more to it than this, but these young bigots are bigots. When angered, all they got are insults.

I should add, that unless he completely goofs things before Nov, if he gets the nomination, I might not want him as my first choice, or even second choice, but I can deal. The eyeroll was not for you personally, but the article with somebody calling this a spoiler. I'm very irritated by it, because these people want a coronation. They want Biden to cruise through with no vetting, no criticism and to not even try to earn people's votes. It's setting up to continue this narrative to blame Bernie and blame Bernie's voters for Biden's impending loss if he's the nominee.

Democracy should not work that way. Further, Clinton was farther ahead at this point than Biden is, and this race is not over. Over half the country hasn't voted yet, and the race is still pretty volatile. Biden could crater after a bad debate performance, and things can shift. He could get coronavirus. Lots of things can happen. People need to respect the democratic process and let people have their say.
