Way to turn your own party into the opposition, Bernie. You nailed it. For Biden.

Let’s be clear. Democrats are the Democratic establishment. Black voters are the Democratic establishment. Whites are the Democratic establishment. Latinos are the Democratic establishment. Asian Americans are the Democratic establishment. LGBT are the Democratic establishment. Christians, Muslims, Athiests are the Democratic establishment.

The Democratic establishment did come together. In two days they created a wave that overcame Bernies inevitableness to say, we are the establishment. Unlike other movements, there is room for everyone in the Democratic establishment.

This video is from Antonio Moore, who is leading the fight on reparations for the black community. He has a different perspective on what happened in South Carolina (it's pre-Super Tuesday). It's enlightening, demanding savvier politics that actually deliver something to black people. It is not pro-anybody, but his focus is on who actually helps the black community. Not just who has a D behind their name.

I've been waiting to hear what he has to say about super tuesday. It's possible we haven't heard from him because his head has exploded.

This interview almost made me cry because she is so brilliant and we so desperately need a president of this quality, and we're not going to get anyone even remotely in that realm.

But Warren's response to the question about Mike Bloomberg was GOLDEN and made me laugh outloud. Damn, lady, you can throw some shade.

MADDOW: Senator, you outlasted Mike Bloomberg in this campaign... and...a lot of postmortems on his campaign accredit you, basically, with singlehandedly tanking his candidacy with the way you took him apart in that debate. Is that what you were trying to do?

WARREN: Yes.

MADDOW: Do you take credit?

WARREN: Sure, but the point is, he's not going to be the Democratic nominee, and he shouldn't be the Democratic nominee. In my view, he was absolutely the riskiest candidate for Democrats on that stage.

Straightforward practical question, prompted by several of Beebo's posts on the subject.

Among the many crimes to be laid at Trump's door is that he's gutted the federal government -- large numbers of senior and somewhat less senior posts have apparently long gone unfilled, or are filled by unconfirmed "Acting" officials, many of whom seem to be qualified by no more than their personal loyalty to Trump.

The Atlantic has a very good recent article on this, posted by Bartholomew in one of the many threads about Trump (sorry, can't remember which one):

As simple matter of practicality, implementing President Sanders' policies on health care will take a great deal of planning and staff training -- it's one thing to pass a law or sign an executive order, but actually carrying out the will of congress or the orders of the Chief Executive is a task for the civil service planners.

So it seems to me that, as a logical precursor to implementing any kind of health care reform, President Sanders is going to have to fill very many senior civil service posts in the affected departments, at the same time he's similarly trying to carry out similar repairs to damage done to many other key departments (Justice and State, certainly) and he'll also need to allow new officials time to get to know their departments and to begin to rebuild the staff's confidence and morale, which Trump has done so much to destroy.

And he'll be doing this, of course, while trying to deal with all the other duties of the the presidency, in both domestic and international affairs, in the midst of the immense, and as yet unknown and unknowable, social and economic consequences of what will, next January, be a continuing public health crisis brought about by Covid-19.

Simultaneously, he'll be trying urgently to do something to mitigate global heating and the climate crisis and implement the green new deal.

It's a huge and daunting agenda and I'm by no means convinced it's going to be possible, let alone desirable, to address health care reform without first addressing some problems even more urgent than health care provision.

How do you see Health Care Reform working out during President Sanders' first term? Forget about Congress for the moment -- assume he can do most of it by Executive Order, at the same time he's trying to revoke four years' worth of Trump's EOs.

Those tweets are NOT going to make some us want to vote for Bernie Sanders for reasons that Salome could readily explain and has already explained in this post:

Succinctly:

Salome said:
But this kind of casual remark is exactly what I’m talking about and why many Dems, especially the most engaged and hard working feel that Bernie is against them and cannot lead them. He hasn’t moved them left. They’ve moved the party left. A populist who acts too good to join their ranks barks around and he gets all their credit?
As Salome and I have said, actual Democrats have been discussing and working on these issues for decades. For Bernie supporters to come along and say "He's the only one who can save us." is the very height of ignorant "cult-of-personality".

No, mine was titled “Just Fuck Off Already You Goddamn Grifter” but I understand the confusion :)
Mine would have been written when the Primary stuff started last year, it would have been called: "Damn it Joe and Bernie! Stop trying to make "Fetch" happen! Just retire already."

Oi...

This is what I've been afraid of since Bernie became a frontrunner - odd, more so than I was in 2016. The anti-semites are not only out in people's faces, they are openly violent these days. It won't be just Bernie they go after. Once Trump turns up the rhetoric, I think we'll have more incidents than we did in the two previous years in a row with very high anti-semitic violence rates in the US.

The article you posted may have covered this, but when there is a transition from one president to the next, every outgoing department trains the incoming department. So, Obama's staffers dutifully scheduled this training and had materials prepared and...Trump's people, the few he had ready to fill positions, didn't show up for training. No clue if they ever did receive training.

I figured that when the next president comes in, he may have to have Obama's people do the training.
