Eighteen months after Donald Trump lost the White House, loyal supporters continue to falsely assert that compromised balloting machines across America robbed him of the 2020 election.

To stand up that bogus claim, some Trump die-hards are taking the law into their own hands – by attempting, with some success, to compromise the voting systems themselves.

Trump said to have reacted approvingly to Jan. 6 chants about hanging Pence

The House panel investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection has received reports of President Trump appearing to support rioters' demands to "Hang Mike Pence," sources say.

Shortly after hundreds of rioters at the Capitol started chanting “Hang Mike Pence!” on Jan. 6, 2021, the White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, left the dining room off the Oval Office, walked into his own office and told colleagues that President Donald Trump was complaining that the vice president was being whisked to safety.

Meadows, according to an account provided to the House committee investigating Jan. 6, then told the colleagues that Trump had said something to the effect of, maybe Pence should be hanged.

It is not clear what tone Trump was said to have used.

But the reported remark was further evidence of how extreme the rupture between the president and his vice president had become, and of how Trump not only failed to take action to call off the rioters but also appeared to identify with their sentiments about Pence — whom he had unsuccessfully pressured to block certification of the Electoral College results that day — as a reflection of his own frustration at being unable to reverse his loss.

If I ever ran into that guy in public, I'd have to be able to stop laughing long enough to shove his nose cartilage a little further up. They both look utterly ridiculous.

A close friend, more like a son to me, is completely convinced that the Democrats are "Socialists" and are going to nationalize everything like they did in Venezuela. (He's from Venezuela, which is why I choose just not to talk about politics with him). He's a brilliant man, has a BS and MBA, speaks three languages fluently and has all kinds of work related certifications but there is no convincing him that all the Democrats are not socialists bordering on communists. He's gay, he's socially liberal, believes in treating people well, takes care of his parents, believes that everyone should have health care but he has a blind spot and has clearly been persuaded that one day, the "Democrat socialists" will take away his house, clean out his bank account and sell off his 401K.

Not as much, I think that Trump's pressure on everyone to change the election may have ruffled him a bit. Lots of people, conservative or liberal, could see what a direct threat to democracy that was.

The Justice Department keeps ramping up its case against former President Donald Trump. Peter Navarro, who was one of Trump’s advisers after his 2020 election loss, revealed Monday that he’d been subpoenaed to testify in the grand jury investigation into the lead-up to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. Navarro said he’s been called to speak to the jury on Thursday and that he must give prosecutors all records he may have related to the insurrection. He’ll also be required to submit “any communications” he’s had with Trump.
