Dude! At least scale them first! Eww!!!

As a child, I watched a friend swallow a goldfish once, and *I* damn near threw up!

Because of my current foot situation I'm having groceries delivered to my apartment. Which is working out pretty well, but I occasionally hit a snag.

I decided to get blueberry muffins from the store's bakery this week, which are pretty good. And I just had one. But, no butter. Or butter substitute. Or anything like that in my fridge.

So yeah, I want butter. Pretty basic craving, but dry muffins are not the best.

So you are experiencing an utter no-butter bummer?

Gari (Pickled ginger).

OK, and maybe a few pieces of sushi, too, to cleanse my palate between each gari bite. :p

Anything, even coughdrops, I'm on an intermittent fast diet.

I've been thinking for the past few days about getting a black raspberry frappe (a New England frappe, which is more milkshake than a traditional frappé drink) from a place way up the street from me called Lago's Ice Cream. They've won all the awards around here multiple times. I believe they make their own ice creams, with flavors like German Chocolate Cake, Orange Pineapple and Cookie Monster (blue vanilla ice cream with Chips Ahoy, Oreos and Animal Crackers ground into it - tastes better than it might sound). But that frappe... I need it now!

I think I'd devour the hell out of some Cookie Monster ice cream!

Not sure "crave" is the right word in this case, but I've recently started remembering my mom used to make hush puppies for us back when we lived in Indiana, which she stopped cold turkey when we moved (for her, back) to New Hampshire. Not sure the reason there.

I found a recipe for a Southern version of hush puppies I think I'll take on sometime this year.

I was craving something simple. Real blue cheese dressing on a salad. I didn't want to make the salad so got something premade from the supermarket. It had to have lettuce and crunchy stuff and some other bits. Homemade blue cheese dressing is so much better than the store stuff in a bottle. It only takes a few minutes to make.

My taste buds were dieing from delight when I ate it. Sometimes it doesn't take anything very fancy.

Now that I can use my cast iron cookware again.

Fry bread with hamburger, red kidney beans, cheese, lettuce and tomato on top. Absolutely melts in your mouth.

The perfect base for individual "pizzas". Toppings of your choice.

Same principal applies when substituting canned biscuits. Just roll the individual biscuit out and top with what you want. Bake at 350F 10-15 minutes or until dough is light golden brown. You can cheat even more with a can of sloppy joe sauce. But that's mainly for those of us who can't afford much in the way of non-processed food like substances. Commod cheese sammich anyone?

Childhood craving.

Growing up in Indiana, we had a regional chain of fast-food restaurants called B-K Root Beer. They were the old fashioned drive-in style, where you'd park and sit in your car, and the waitstaff would come out to you (I think ours had them on rollerskates, but I don't remember too well). Anyway, I loved going to B-K for their draft root beers, served in a big glass mug. It's a strong summer memory for me, sipping through the foam of a B-K root beer, munching on fries. It may be the greatest soda drink I've ever had.

We have a relic of the past like that near here. They come out to your car and hook a tray on your window with whatever you ordered. Weber's Root Beer - Pennsauken NJ.
