Yep and this is bad in the sense the he is going to punish those states that went blue, not to mention we cannot ever count on accurate Covid numbers going forward. After all is said and done 4 years from now, or whenever their control actually ends, could be way longer, people will pore over it and find the real data.

People are going to die, and it will be as if they just went to the hospital one day and expired of unknown causes, or more likely, pneumonia.

Of course he did. He told us what he was going to do. It's 2020 and Trump combined. All I can muster is an ugh. But really, I'm terrified of what a Trump winning the election, after avoiding impeachment, getting three Supreme Court seats, looks like.

I can say that, we can can probably expect even more curtailing of rights, possible overturning of SC decisions, though not so sure about that. It takes time to make that kind of change. I hate to think of a Supreme Court that takes rights away rather than grants them. IDeaths of people as they lose the ACA, deaths of people who dive of Covid, an energized police force that feels free to kill. He's promised to go after SS/Medicare as well, so will have to see how that plays out. That will mean death, too.

I am not even going to speculate at this time how much worse it could be. I think we can all see where that may go, and I think it will start with immigrants. Miller has a plan, and it isn't pretty.

CBC, a Canadian Broadcaster, has had quite interesting coverage on the results tonight. As a Canadian I do resonate with the outsider view even if I do flip to CNN or NBC as they are more entertaining and energized about it.

One interesting observation made on CBC is that more people voted for Trump in 2020 than did in 2016. In spite of everything we’ve seen him do, more Americans support him knowing what kind of President he’s been.

This is what happens when the "Democratic" candidate is a neoliberal capitalist Republican Lite who utterly fails to motivate his base. At this point we can only hope the uncounted mail-in votes will swing things for us. I'm sure the fascist's lawyers are readying their lawsuits even now.

America's been split in two for at least 30 years now. It's just become really obvious since the fascist took office. We can't compromise with conservatives; they see that as weakness to exploit. We can't bargain with conservatives; they will never willingly give up any power, even if it hurts themselves. We can't even speak to conservatives anymore. We talk about science, facts, reason, and peace; they respond with religious fanaticism, conspiracy theories, insanity, and guns. They look like us, but they don't think like us. They're almost a different species of human. They need to be stopped, and politics isn't going to cut it anymore.

I don't think there's any going back. If we could magically separate all the sane people from the crazy/evil people, we'd be fine, but there's no way to do that. Riots and sectarian violence are the only results I see going forward.

President Trump attacked legitimate vote-counting efforts in remarks from the White House early Wednesday, suggesting attempts to tally all ballots amounted to disenfranchising his supporters.

"Millions and millions of people voted for us," Trump said in the East Room. "A very sad group of people is trying to disenfranchise that group of people."
His remarks were laced with misleading statements and outright falsehoods and amounted to an assault on the Democratic process. He insisted that states where vote tallies currently show him leading should be called in his favor, despite significant outstanding votes yet to be counted.

He said he was preparing to declare victory earlier in the evening.

"We were getting ready for a big celebration. We were winning everything. And all of a sudden it was just called off," he said.
Trump baselessly claimed a fraud was being committed.

"This is a fraud on the American public. This is an embarrassment to our country," Trump claimed.
"Frankly we did win this election," he said, despite millions of votes still outstanding.
Saying he would go to the US Supreme Court, Trump said he wanted "all voting to stop."

Just let that go through your head. He declared himself victor and wants further voting to stop.

Well, I instantly blocked any known Trumpers on my friend list, including family friends of 30+ years. I'm done trying to reason. I have up until today been trying to actively reason with them. It didn't matter. I don't mean push things, but simply posting what has been happening, historical precedent and more than a few testy posts aimed at me, but I remained calm and just posted more info, Everything that we have been taught to do. Try to understand, ask them what they want, feed their words back to them quietly with no pomposity and see what they would say. None of my direct conversations with them worked. I appealed to religious beliefs, explaining exactly why and how my beliefs differed from theirs or rather just reminding them that ya know, there IS a New Testament. I tried appealing to patriotism. not the Trump kind, the real kind, again explaining what I thought that means. I never got anywhere.

If I can cut off my own beloved sister, I sure as hell don't have to put up with extended family/friends.

The blue wave did not happen. That leaves the door wide open to a Trump declaring victory when he was at 215 EC votes (270 is the magic number) and attempting to stop all counting of ballots.

It didn't happen, as much as wish it did. Yes, we fight on, but ...well, I wasn't bearish to begin with. I didn't have hope before. Now? All I have is exteme rancor toward those who put him in office in 2016. Had they not done that, and many of them voted for him again, we wouldn't have a mad king in office trying to undermine our voting process from beginning to end. I actually started thinking Trump would at the very least do a lot better than projected, and he might actually win again based on what I was seeing on Twitter yesterday. I saw a lot of people who normally would have voted Democrat saying they held their noses and voted Trump - and why, but I'm not going to say because I don't want to get dog piled.

I don't understand -- if I tell you that, with a 6-sided die, you have a one in three chance of rolling < 3, and you take the die a roll a 1 or a 2, then what do you conclude from that?
