At this point, things are so bad, we're in "Box #3". The voting box didn't work, the jury box only works for some and not so much anymore now that the court is stacked anyway, so people are restoring to "the bullet box". After Musk, Bezos, Andreessen, Thiel and several others get done running the US, I don't think it will be even five years before they are lining these guys up in front of a guillotine. They can only control the press for so long. "Look something shiny" will eventually stop working. Or maybe I'm too optimistic?
I don't think "look something shiny" is working now. Almost everyone Ine counter these days feels like they have this underlying ball of dread and frustration and anger.

Maybe I am just projecting...

Well I know I sure as fuck do ...
The most amusing one I have seen is in the Windows Weekly Podcast, where they will just sort of, randomly comment about how the world is going to shit but then quickly just sweep it back up and start talking about tech stuff again.

Trying to have even a neutral, 'wait and see' outlook is fucking exhausting, let alone trying to remain positive.

I've gotten to a point where I barely retaliate when it comes to some idiocy these days and I sure as fuck don't go wasting my energy with making a full response anymore - that shit takes what few spoons I have, quickly.

To clarify, that's the part I disagreed with. Everyone I casually interact seems to be carrying this kind of cautious force cheerful "Walking on thin ice that could go at anytime" tension.

Don't strawman. I don't think many people hate CEO's just for being wealthy, though I'm sure that's how they'd like to characterize it. There is a long list of CEO's who've gotten people killed with horrible policies and suffered no consequences. Some powerful people have seriously abused that power. I'm really uncomfortable with direct violence; but I think it's a good thing if very powerful people are at least a bit afraid of regular folk fighting back.
I wasn't trying to strawman. It's easy to hate this these rich CEOs who become wealthy while condemning others to suffer. I am also generally against violence in regard to stuff like this. But in this case, I think the CEOs need to be reminded that they are not untouchable and that the regular people are getting sick of being pushed around and taken advantage of. Or like, look, I agree with you. I just tend to express myself in a sort of trashy way sometimes. Like, I'm mad at the ultra rich people. They have unlimited freedom while I struggle at the bottom.

I don't care about people with more money, I care about people who cause irreporable harm to others in a mass, factory like way.
Me nods. I agree. For me, it just feels like an us vs them type of thing the way they keep getting richer and the rest of us continue to struggle or get even poorer.

Yet another United Health Care murder ...

However, when Schmidtknecht went to his local Walgreens pharmacy on Jan. 10, 2024, to fill his prescription, he was informed that his medication was no longer covered by his insurance, according to the lawsuit. Advair Diskus would now cost Schmidtknecht $539.19 out of pocket, and the pharmacy allegedly told him there were no cheaper alternatives or generic medications available to him. The lawsuit also says the pharmacist failed to contact Schmidtknecht’s physician or insurance company to seek an alternative.
<snip>
He left Walgreens that day without filling his prescription, and in the days that followed, he repeatedly struggled to breathe and relied solely on an old emergency inhaler, per the suit.

Five days after he left Walgreens, Schmidtknecht had a severe asthma attack and began to asphyxiate, according to the lawsuit. His roommate drove him to an emergency room in Appleton, but he became unresponsive and his heart stopped minutes before they arrived.
How many more are they killing every day?

Feels like Fin de siècle.

That was the time preceeding WW1.

History doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes.

At least I'm positive we won't start it this time,

Laughs in AfD
If somehow Germany manages to start WW3, I hate to say ot but that mean its time to just throw in the towel and divy up the country tonthe surrounding countries, to ensure there there isn't some residuals to make WW4 happen.

Like a 3 strikes you're out deal.

I had United health care and thankfully they treated me well over a lot of years and problems. Now that I needed to switch to medicare I will be using Transamerica medigap coverage, effective yesterday. Hopefully they will work out for my needs.

Still not in power in a single state.
Rewboss is a bit worried about something Merz has done in relation to AfD, but I'm not familiar enough with the elections to understand the big picture and say anything worthwhile. Could someone shed some enlightenment on this and spin it out a bit? It's a five minute vid; rewboss always makes them short.
