Watters was a low-watt, high functioning lackey for Bill O'Reilly back when that mattered. Since O'Reilly left Fox, he's been bouncing around shows trying to make a name for himself (and not doing very well at it).
The thing about Carlson was that he was able to maintain O'Reilly's octogenarian audience while also bringing in his Nazi viewers.

I don't know why everyone tolorates this nonsense. All these numbers and statistics have become abstraction on top of abstraction so much that its meaningless. But hey, some ad exec like bigger is better so its got to be doing great!
