Only 600 miles. Hell, the wall for Mexico is 1200 miles, should be doable.
Well, the Nares Strait between Ellesmere Island and Greenland ist just 25 kilometers wide at its narrowest point.

In its middle lies Hans Island, where Canada and Greenland/Denmark share a land border. The island used to be disputed, which resulted in Canada and Denmark successively planting flags on it and leaving bottles of liqueur for the next visitor. (link)

Well it was to be expected, and the saddest thing about it is if this would be successful during this term, the Iranian government would have done America and the whole world probably a big favour.

David Allen Green is doing a series of very readable discussions of the Supreme Court's Opinion in the case of Trump vs Casa, which prevents federal courts from issuing general injunctions.

The US Supreme Court judgment on injunctions - what Justice Barrett said

This sounds technical but, as DAG puts it
it seems that while onlookers were (mis-)directed into worrying about what would happen if the Trump administration ignored court orders, the conservative majority on the US Supreme Court, with more subtlety and artistry, has now robbed federal judges from making many of the most unwelcome court orders in first place.
I found it a very helpful guide to the reasoning behind the ruling, which seems very unconvincing. Later in the week he'll be looking at the dissenting opinion.

Oh noes!

"Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa," Trump wrote.

"No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE," he added. "Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!"
And he wasn't done yet.

"We might have to put DOGE on Elon," Trump told reporters while preparing to board the Marine One helicopter. "DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon. Wouldn’t that be terrible?"

Asked whether he might deport Musk, Trump didn't rule out the possibility.

"I don’t know," he told media at the White House, adding that "we’ll have to take a look."
Poor, poor Leon. 😢

It would choke off the US space program because we have allowed a single vendor to take over. Well, Boeing is working on it too, but right now Space X has the most effective human launch system.

You don't understand. We need Canada so Greenland Denmark can pay for and build a bridge to Greenland .

Fixed it.
In other words, they want the EU to pay for American infrastructure.

Which is actually understandable. I mean, have you seen the Millau viaduct?

Here's a schematic picture:

I added an image of the Trump tower for size comparison.

Somehow, "Boeing is working on it" does not inspire the confidence it once might have.

There's also Blue Origins, and Jeff Bezos has made the appropriate ass-kissing gestures toward King Fuxitup, so I think there might be some writing on the wall for SpaceX.

Can't build that in America. It uses meters.
Foot is just meter in disguise, since over a century.

Since 1893, the legal definition of the foot in the United States has been based on the meter. The definition adopted at that time was the one specified by Congress in 1866, as 1 foot = 1200/3937 meter exactly (or 1 foot = 0.304 800 6 meter approximately). In 1959, the relationship of the foot to the meter was officially refined as 1 foot = 0.304 8 meter exactly. This change was made to support United States industry and international trade. It resolved a long-standing discrepancy with the definition used by different organizations within the United States and in other countries.

And here's his post about Justice Sotomayor's dissenting judgment
