"Trickle down" economics was always kind of controversial and unproven. Meanwhile the principle of comparative advantage is one of the most agreed upon ideas in economic theory. One Economist even joked it was the only consequence of economic theory that was neither trivial or false.

There was a (now deleted) post on r/MurderedByWords earlier today. Someone posted an (obviously AI generated) take down of some 'libtard' opining that seeing the demolition at the White House made them feel sort of like how 9/11 made them feel.

I kinda went off...

Watching a Putin loving grifter pedo predator felon president:
* build a military base on our soil for Qatar because they gave him a gold plated airplane,
* shitting all over our first amendment rights,
* terrorizing Latinos, invading blue state with his armed thugs,
* destroying our future academically, economically and
* abandoning our status as an influential and respected world leader...
* not to mention that he's absolutely screwing over healthcare, vaccines, cancer research, Medicare, etc, just like he screwed us over by bungling the pandemic...
The death toll on his hands is already larger than 9/11, and only going to grow.

So yeah, watching him build a grand "Larger Than The White House Itself!" gaudy unnecessary unwanted monument to himself .. using "protection money/bribes" he extorted from the wealthiest Americans.

All the while on top of all that as the Speaker of the House, Red State legislatures and the Supreme Court work tirelessly to destroy our democracy... all to solidify their absolute hold on power and keep those fucking epstein files hidden

Honestly, this feels a lot worse than 9/11. We recovered from 9/11.

I strongly doubt any of us will live long enough to see the country recover from the widespread institutional damage and setbacks inflicted on us by Idiot Hitler v2.

That's not new though. 9/11 is merely one more excuse for racists that have been stoking the fires for centuries.

Grief has run its course, the rubble is cleared, institutions/banks/corporations have moved on... but exploitation will continue until there's it becomes detrimental to those that keep dredging it up. like mass mailers and telemarketers, they know it doesn't affect 99% of the people, but they keep doing it because it will reach that last one percent.

The shoes&belt airport thing to me is just another authoritarian overreach... conditioning us to put up with degradation and humiliation in public to get us more and more accustomed to being treated more like the cattle that capitalists view us as.
