I hope that Mayor Johnson and Governor Pritzker put their heads together to come up with a scheme to defeat Trump's ambitions in Chicago. For example, they could deploy city police and state police to protect any federal (or federalized) troops that Trump sends. These troops are unskilled at urban policing whereas the police are trained for it as well as crowd control. These troops need protection from everything except an actual military force arrayed against them, which is not going to happen. Protect the troops!
