Do Gizmodo know PornHub are based in Montreal, which is not (yet) subject to US law?
WRONG! USA IS THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE!!!!!!!!!!!

But seriously, you're right.... porn would still do a lot of business outside the USA and a lot of people would circumvent the law in various ways. That statement kind of detracts from what is otherwise a serious article.

One of the comments mentions
Later this week on Fox News: Staff have reported that RFK Jr has spent the last 2 days camped in the bathroom. When asked for a comment on the situation, he gave a muffled reply about an 'inverted volcano".
In the Navy, we call it the Double Dragon.

Use your imagination.

Ben Shapiro roasting Trump about the $400mn. aircraft, asking what happened about "America First"?

No one should listen to Shapiro without fact checking every damned word that comes out of his mouth... and who has time for that, the little motor mouth gish-gallops through so much damned stuff. Fuck him.

The 'air palace' is a clear violation of the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution. So what. Let Trump be Trump and take take take. Maybe if congress shifts, they can hang a fat big final impeachment around his neck and boot him out of the white house finally.

Or better yet. Let Trump have and use the Boeing 747-8 'Air Palace'. What could *possibly* go wrong with all the FAA layoffs and Boeing tarnished reputation. HmmmMMmm? It would be a fitting end to a president who made us less safe for his own enrichment, who took a massive 'transparent' bribe from a major sponsor of terrorism.

Yeah, I hate Ben Shapiro but it is meaningful that even such dedicated right winger is basically admitting that this bribe looks really bad... Ben is of course still trying way too hard to be charitable to Trump, but I bet Ben knows this is just a blatantly illegal bribe.

At one point in the video, Ben says "I don't know if this is legal or not but.... it does look really bad." My thought is that of course Ben, who is a lawyer, KNOWS this is very illegal, but he's just trying really, REALLY hard to be charitable to Trump.

I do know that Shapiro is one of Trump's biggest cock suckers and fanbois, so no news to me.

My point is that what Trump did is so blatantly wrong that even such a devoted dickhead starts to criticise him for it.

Give him the airplane and the maintenance costs. It costs around $500,000 to $1,000,000 a year just to park and maintain that plane before you ever even start the engines. Figure $30,000 to $50,000 an hour if you actually go make holes in the sky.

BTW, it's a used, rather obsolete plane and not one that is in much demand. My little local airplane company rolled out the last 747, which was a 747-8, in 2022.

BTW, I believe that $400M price tag is the list price of a new 747-8 -- which is a thing that does not exist.

I read one source that said they are now worth about 10% of list. 10%! (Much as I love them, the 747 is no longer a desired airplane.)

"Incorrect" - Kosh Naranek

President Trump will invoke some unremembered clause in a forgotten code that "allows" him to ignore security concerns and place the plane into immediate service. No one will stop him. He may transport himself, Vance, and the entire Cabinet at once in the luxury jet and no one will stop him.

That might be no bad thing, all things considered.

I sort of disagree with it being 'meaningful'. That little shitweasel knows his criticism is purely performative. He's taking a breath to be edgy and feign impartiality in the hopes that it'll boost his ratings and influence.

For him to complain now, that the convicted felon he backed is *Gasp* acting unconstitutionally... is too little too late and about as absurd as a demolitions crew trying to talk a falling building into changing direction.

To get all B5/Kosh about it: The avalanche has already started, it's too late for the pebbles to vote.

Yeah honestly at this point, no sarcasm, I don't think there's anything a foreign adversary might overhear that would make the US any worse off than it is right now. This guy's whole thing is blurting out secret information to complete randos because he thinks it might impress them.

I'm certainly not going to accuse Shapiro of good overall judgement or being on the right side of history... just saying, most conservative commentators are scared to say ANYTHING critical of Trump so I think it matters when one does. I do think you're right that he is trying to feign impartiality. I actually think Ben sometimes tones down his criticisms of Trump because he doesn't want to piss off his audience.

I think that, as long as he throws in an occasional "yeah, but the libs," he'll never piss off his audience. Or, if he does manage it, they won't stay pissed for long.

Frauds like Shapiro speak out of both sides of their mouth so they can wash their hands of responsibility when the scam falls apart. That's all there is to it.
