The content is as to be expected: Russia is the poor victim, does not want to attack Poland blablabla and it's up to America to give peace a chance, simply don't deliver new weapons and ammunition to Ukraine any longer, and it will be over in a few weeks. Well known Putin critic Alexei Navalny died at age 47 in a Russian gulag in Siberia. Reason of death is officially still unknown. Navalny survided in 2020 a killing attempt with Novichok in his underpants and was treated in Germany.

Friends and supporters of him demanded that he should be relocated to a better prison since a long time.

Russian newspaper editor and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Dmitry Muratov told Reuters on Friday the death of jailed opposition leader Alexei Navalny was "murder", and said that he believed harsh treatment had led to his demise.

"My sincere belief is that it was the conditions of detention that led to Navalny's death ... His sentence was supplemented by murder," Muratov said, offering condolences to his family.

Pope Francis has said in an interview that Ukraine should have what he called the courage of the "white flag" and negotiate an end to the war with Russia that followed Moscow's full-scale invasion two years ago and that has killed tens of thousands.

In the interview Francis was asked for his position on a debate between those who say Ukraine should give up as it has not been able to repel Russian forces, and those who say doing so would legitimise actions by the strongest party. The interviewer used the term "white flag" in the question.
"It is one interpretation, that is true," Francis said, according to an advance transcript of the interview and a partial video made available to Reuters on Saturday. It is due to be broadcast on March 20 as part of a new cultural programme.

"But I think that the strongest one is the one who looks at the situation, thinks about the people and has the courage of the white flag, and negotiates," Francis said, adding that talks should take place with the help of international powers.
"The word negotiate is a courageous word. When you see that you are defeated, that things are not going well, you have to have the courage to negotiate," Francis said.

I'll explain for the LOLWut response: Russia using open top troop carriers for an offensive on the front line is the same level of irresponsibility as the U.S. deploying all-terrain canvas topped vehicles (Humvees) in a war zone with no front lines and no "safe" rear areas to operate in. The 1/16th inch of canvas and light frame designed for high speed maneuvers does diddly-squat for troop protection against combat arms, let alone improvised explosive devices.
