When in top speed they need about 8 minutes to go from the north to south of the country.
They have more fly space though. We patrol on parts of the North Sea as well and Belgium and NL share their air space so they patrol on each others territory.
No alarm bells go of when a Dutch fighter ends up in the German airspace either.
Germany and The Netherlands work very close together and that will result in a joined army in the future I guess.
That is far more cost efficient.

That's the main reason why we are replacing the F16s with F34s, I think.
It costs a few dollars, but the advantage is huge for a small country like mine.

They're typically tethered to the ground and stay close to the beach.

This is the map of Europe with NATO members on it. There's ample place for this training flights and let's not forget the seas. I don't think that lack of space is the reason why many Europa figher pilots go for training to the US and Canada.

But mostly this, civil flight connections. In the states and Canada are vast areas around with little civil flight happening, also not much populated. But in Europa it's another case, and some areas practicing fighter jets is also restricted due to noise prevention.

And here's a population density map of Europe.

The states without Hawaii and Alaska plotted over Europe, and also bear on mind that 2 of 3 Americans in the states live within a 100 mile range away from the border, so much rural and plenty space for training in the states with Canada. Typical states were air force is being trained are Texas and Arizona.

Training to become a fighter jet pilot is in the USA, but after finishing 'school' the the target practice and combat fighting procedures for the active pilots are practiced over here as well, above sea and some reasonable low populated patches of land and that is logical, because circumstances like the terrain conditions, weather and climate are different. NL has two zones for combat practice.

The Netherlands are not one big city. The patches of relatively low population are not comparable with the dessert type ones in the USA, but big enough to practice combat procedures.

Ukraine's Southern Operational Command reported early in the morning that Russian forces blew up the dam.

Video footage widely spread on social media clearly shows a major breach in the section of the dam closest to the Russian-occupied eastern bank of the river. According to a resident of a nearby settlement cited by Ukrainska Pravda, there was a single explosion, after which the dam "collapsed like a house of cards."

As so often, the "Reporting from Ukraine" YT channels seems to have the best explanation to what happened. TLDR for those who doesn't want to watch the whole video: Russia was going to launch a relatively small flood to wipe out Ukrainian positions on the islands in the river but unsuprisingly they lost control and did far more damage to the dam than they intended to.
This is still an unconfirmed theory but unlike all the other explanations it actually seems to fit all known facts.
