*Self: does not know word "annected", looks up, finds: Well, that's not very helpful. hehe.
Haven't found something that acutally says that it's a version of annex, but everything but for that one barely there definition assumed I asked for a definition fo annex instead of annect.
Google keeps pointing to Annex. Seems to be present in Scottish and Middle English (with quotes). Annected is a form of Annect, which in Latin is:

annecto
transitive verb III conjugation

1 (ship) to tie on, to tie to, tie up
2 to bind to fasten on
3 to attach, to connect, to join, to annex

Looks like a typical translation error.

Merkel has been misquoted by this French TV station.

Here's the quote, paraphrased by "Die Zeit":
Merkel lobte in dem Gespräch den Widerstand der Ukrainer. Sie glaube, dass Deutschland nicht als erste Nation modernste Panzer schicken sollte, weil man in Russland "mit Deutschland immer noch gut Stimmung machen kann".
This last sentence was translated as "On peut encore créer une bonne ambiance avec l'Allemagne en Russie" / "We can still create a good atmosphere with Germany in Russia".

But that's not what she said. "Stimmung machen" means "to agitate" or to "rile up" - what she actually said was that mentioning anything "German" can still be used to rile up Russia's population, so Germany should not be the first nation to send the most modern, state-of-the-art tanks to Ukraine.

Btw:

German:English:
modernmodern
modernstthe most modern / state-of-the-art

I just want to ask why? Why do you need so many words in English?

Since nobody has mentioned it before: at the 10th of November there was again an open appeal to Joe Biden to enter negotiations with Russia.

This time though that appeal didn't come from the usual suspects, but General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. It's unprecedented that such a high ranking military speaks out loudly against his acting president.

Here's also an interview where retired Army Colone and former senior Pentagon adviser Douglas Macgregor elaborates about why he thinks Milley went forward with that step. Probably what MacGregor says should be taken with a grain of salt, but it is interesting none the less.

Just to add an odd sense of humor, after WW 2 the pentagon was slated to become a government documents depository. There are ramps between each of the five main levels, so wheeled carts could be pushed along them. Additionally, the very center kiosk is a snack bar selling hot dogs & Coca-Cola.

EDIT: Coka: oops! Thanks Free.
