Yeah... by ANY quantifiable metric, GDP per capita, murder per capita, educational performance, etc, the American South is the worst performing region of the country but right wing media has so many people convinced it's blue states.

This is always my annoyance with southern Illinois Idiots who hate "Chiraq".

Because Chicago is barely maybe top 5 for murder/crime on a per capital basis. Usually it's Danville on top.

And if you were to pull together all the stats of "Chicagoland" that a lot of outsiders consider to be "Chicago", it's probably barely top 10.

When I think of Ohio, for some reason I can't really fathom I think of those cheerful, optimistic but incredible dumb people I see on daytime soap commercials. The women finding incredible joy and happiness from a four ounce plastic thingie of yogurt as bumblebees, flowers, and butterflies flutter around them. Where everyone has a $400,000 home with a backyard patio, and old people dance in the daylight because of miracle pills.
