Conservative Republican endorses Harris, calls Trump a threat to democracy
Retired federal appeals court Judge J. Michael Luttig, a prominent conservative legal scholar put on the bench by President George H.W. Bush, is endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris over former President Donald Trump, whose candidacy he describes as an existential threat to American democracy.

It will be the first time Luttig, a veteran of two Republican administrations, has voted for a Democrat.
Meanwhile, Twi...X user "Iheartnazis4466931" claims to have voted for Biden in 2020, but has decided to vote for Trump this year because "I hate that the Demoncrats are being so mean to Vance."

lol Desperate Republicans are desperate.

Republican Senator Ron Johnson attacked Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz over his ties to China, claiming it’s a red flag that the “radical leftist” got married “on the anniversary of Tiananmen Square.”
Didn't the Tiananmen Square massacre (It's not the "anniversary of Tiananmen Square." That's like having an anniversary for Times Square...) occur because China cracked down on pro-democracy protests? Wow, I wasn't aware Johnson had a problem with recognizing pro-democratic events. Now he wants Congress to investigate Walz's wedding day.

If God did, He also had his hand on both Moses and Pharaoh. Trump ain't Moses. Neither is Vance.

(For clarification, I'm responding to the material quoted, not what Bartholomew said personally.)
I figure God had nothing to do with it, and it's Satan who keeps protecting Trump. I mean, think about it, if you were the ruler of Hades, would you want someone like Trump coming along and trying to take over?

The entire event was one stunning moment after another. Mrs. Beebo and I watched it all on C-Span (because the mainstream media were just talking heads with the convention running silently in the background like wallpaper).

I was honestly surprised by how entertaining it all was, with deeply emotional moments over and over again. Warnock and AOC came out like prizefighters, and Hillary Clinton gave the best speech of hers I've ever heard. To me, this was one of the most bittersweet moments, because I kept thinking "Why didn't she speak out like this before?" This question ties into "Why am I responding to Kamala Harris this time around?"

My theory is that Harris finally found her authentic voice, unfettered by the focus groups and pollsters and bevy of consultants who tied Clinton into politically correct knots. Somehow between 2020 and 2024, Harris decided to be herself. Unlike Clinton, she got a second chance and this time around she got it right.

I very much agree with this. A similar point was recently made on the Eschatonblog recently, in that it's hard to have your own personality when you're required to focus on the "mental map of all the minefields you're supposed to avoid."
