This guy is a lawyer. Fucking stupid.

Johnson in Trump verdict aftermath: 'I do believe the Supreme Court should step in'
Speaker Mike Johnson said the Supreme Court should "step in" in the aftermath of guilty verdicts for former President Donald Trump on dozens of felony counts in New York.

"I do believe the Supreme Court should step in," Johnson said on Fox News' "Fox and Friends" on Friday. "I think they'll set this straight but it's going to take a while."

He does provide an apt quote:

Johnson added of the Supreme Court justices: "I know many of them personally, I think they're deeply concerned about" faith in the U.S. justice system.

That's because they are a large part of the reason we've lost faith in the U.S. justice system.

I'm just going to add this little tidbit to the mix, seriously these people are nucking futz: A bare breast and ‘civil war’: MAGA diehards get weird outside Trump Tower

The scene outside Trump Tower was strange but mostly peaceful - save for a small skirmish between Trumpers and a protester with a sign supporting the guilty conviction. In one particularly shocking moment, Juliet Germanotta took out her bare breast and shoved it in the Trump critic’s face. 🤡

Germanotta, a Manhattan resident of 25 years, said she “wanted” Trump to be found guilty because it would help him in the polls and galvanize his supporters. She insisted that a “civil war” was possible if Trump was thrown in jail or if the November election was “rigged.” “You’ve got to understand that there are millions of Americans that don’t register their guns, me being one of them. And, I’m ready for everything that’s coming, because give me Trump or give me death,” she said.

It was an intense declaration that other MAGA fans shared. Another supporter waved a giant flag that insisted: “Give me Trump or give me death.”

“He needs to be president. Or else we’re all going to die,”
agreed Alexis, a supporter from Staten Island who walked around wearing an American flag as a cape.
I guess I'm even more discombobulated by all this because some of the people I see still supporting him are friends who I thought were really solid, mentally stable people with both feet based soundly in reality. I was shocked to learn otherwise.

In fact, my husband and I, at one point, were even asking each other if we were the insane ones. 🤪 What [actual] facts or information are we missing? How is it that we see Trump as an old, washed up, has been, misogynistic, racist, hate filled, blowhard con-artist and others still see him as America's savior? Even after nearly taking down our democracy on January 6th and now 34 felony convictions with more pending? I am flummoxed.

I also don't get how they are all so violently emotional about it all. Some of our friends who are Trump supported could not even be bothered to go and vote back in the late 80's and early 90's. WTF changed everything so drastically?

I've lost count of the number of friends who don't speak to me any more. When this whole thing broke in 15, I didn't hold back (go ahead, if you know me that's a laugh) and too late realized that my brother and little sister were both Trumpies. It's cast a major pall over family gatherings - in fact, I haven't been to one in years, not since my folks passed. One could say it's all my fault, but I don't give a shit.

Youngest of two Brothers has it in his head that he's always right. You know the type. That's my role.

White people are afraid they're not on top any more. A level playing field is a demotion, and they don't like that. Like seriously don't like it.
They'd also have to admit that they've been wrong for all those years.

For many of them, the radicalisation began three decades ago during the Clinton years. How many of them laughed with Rush Limbaugh when he called Chelsea Clinton a dog? Or were frothing at their mouths over Bill Clinton's affairs while ignoring Newt Gingrich's infidelity? Then they anointed a moron and watched as the planes hit the towers, they learned to make excuses for attacking the wrong country, torture, war crimes. And when the Obamas moved into the White House, they were hopelessly outclassed by a black man, who was more charismatic, intelligent and upright than any Republican since the 1950s.

These people picked the wrong side a long time ago. They'd have to take all of that back to make things right. Their whole lives are based on lies, and they can feel it, even though they are desperate to cling to their delusions - and that's what's driving them nuts.

How is that good for the country, Dean? Are we now teaching that anyone can break the law, for any reason, and we'll give you a get out of jail free card? Or is this just for rich white fucks?

"My juror": Trump believed a loyalist on the jury could save him, until the very end
Donald Trump apparently held out hope that one juror — who he viewed as skeptical of the New York prosecutors’ case — would keep a guilty verdict from being imposed in his hush money trial.

Per Rolling Stone, Trump insiders were still disillusioned that a lone juror could keep the former president safe from any number of the 34 counts of felony falsification of business records. Ultimately, all 12 jurors found him guilty on each of the counts, after the weeks-long trial ended on Thursday afternoon.

Trump went so far as to call the jury member “my juror” in private conversations, based on his confidence in his legal team’s analysis of the Manhattan resident’s body language, Rolling Stone reported. They were hopeful that smiles and approving nods from the juror could be enough to achieve a hung jury.

I guess his juror wasn't fooled.
