the UK will soon acquire two ferries or cargo vessels and begin the process of converting them to warships. The plan is part of a program to build out more nimble multi-purpose military seacraft (that, we imagine, could also be used to ferry emergency supplies over from the Continent if Brexit truly goes awry).
Just to add some background, the Air Force Space Command has existed since 1982. They oversee most of the government's military space programs, whose budget is about 50% larger than NASA's. The "Space Force" would mostly be just a transfer of these people to a new military branch, and maybe add a few new duties, like asteroid defense, which nobody is doing yet. NASA is searching for hazardous asteroids, but they don't have the capability to do anything if they find one.
After facing intense backlash for his chilling remarks, Porterfield took to Twitter and Facebook Tuesday evening to claim he made the disturbing on-air comments because “Liberals always take the bait.”
Right, because essentially saying that you would murder your children if they were gay is something that only liberals would detest? Maybe so, among mouth-breathing, Trump-empowered reptiles that have taken over our collective national discussion. As an aside, this guy looks inbred as all hell and appears to be an indictment against our educational system and our political process.
No dude, you didn't "own the liberals". You exposed yourself for the detestable human being that you actually are, and I hope your kids are paying close attention. This is the kind of person who ends up all alone in a nursing home somewhere with no visitors because his family hates him.
The problem, more than having people like him exist, as they always have, is that he is an actual delegate. Time to change that. I hope that the good people of West Virginia remedy that and soon.
It seems that Conservatives in the US just kind of suck at boycotts. There are are at least 3 calls a year to boycott Starbucks, and the only issue that I can see hurting the bottom line is if Schultz goes ahead with his vanity run and Liberals kill it. The spice retailer Penzi's went full anti-Trump in 2016, and their Facebook page is a beautiful example of a company taking a stand and explaining it in well reasoned posts, which are full of replies threatening their doom. They are still going strong (and, as they have noted, came to their decision as life-long Republicans). They tend to either threaten things they don't buy anyway, or not actually carry through on their threats. Or, in this case, make a stupid snap decision about a major corporation that they ends up hurting them but not doing anything to the company they are targeting with their gesture.
I forget where, but I saw a thread on Twitter recently that argues she's simply working her grift -- making a pretty good living from telling white (predominantly male) conservatives what they want to hear a black woman saying. It's a similar grift to Milo's, before he blew it.
