The IATSE union membership approved the new contract over the weekend, without the contract winning the popular vote. The contract basically won by delegates, sent by the 13 chapters, and even that was by a narrow margin. The union leadership had to do all kinds of shady things to ram this horrible contract through.

The union could, hypothetically, still go wildcat on them, even with the new contract. It's a long shot, but across the nation, there has been a resurgence of wildcat strikes over the past year or two.

The United States Supreme Court declined to review a case in which a circuit court decided that police can violate a person's first ammendment rights because that particular circuit had not made a relevant ruling. The police officers were trained that people have a first amendment right to film police officers in public. The right to film police officers in public has been firmly established in numerous other federal courts. The circuit court said that this has not been addressed by the court in their district so the police officers could not be expected to respect the US Constitution in this situation. The US Supreme Court in turn simply turned its back. The cases this court is ignoring are as horrible as the rulings on the cases they will listen to.
