Remains of over 100 dogs unearthed on the grounds of a "no-kill" animal rescue in California

And those were just the intact remains. Several more dog skulls and other bones were found as well.

The rescue shelter's owner has since released a statement insisting that they do not kill dogs except on very rare occasions and that the public should wait for "all of the facts" before drawing any conclusions - which, okay fine but honestly even just the 130 or so definitely dead dogs that have been found so far is a LOT for only two years, it's more than one out of every ten dogs they took in during that time. And there's hundreds of dogs they took in that are just missing, so IMO if there's exonerating facts out there waiting to be reported they must be pretty darn amazing facts.
We never should have trusted the "Kari Lake Kristi Noem Animal Rescue Center".

ETA: oops, picked the wrong dog-abusing Republican

Woman has her driveway stolen from her Florida home as part of Nigerian scam

The wild thing about this is, the person whose driveway was destroyed wasn't even the actual target of the scam, the contractor who did it was. The homeowner's address was just drawn out of a hat by the scammer, completely random.

Police say someone claiming to be from a real estate company hired a contractor to update the driveway. However, the contractor abruptly stopped working on the driveway when a $15,000 check provided to pay for the job bounced.
The contractor tried to get out of paying for a replacement driveway at first and was all like "we're the real victims here" which wasn't completely wrong but - dude. How are you going to perform a job like this without even once trying to make contact with someone actually living in the house first. It's not exactly a pizza delivery.

"It was not immediately clear how the alleged scammer would have benefited from the deal." - yeh, that's just wild.

Can vaccines sue for defamation?

Idaho mom, who claimed vaccines killed twin babies, now charged with murder
An Idaho mother is facing murder charges for the deaths of her 18-month-old twins, after previously claiming vaccines were the cause of their deaths.

New court records obtained by KTVB show that a Payette County grand jury indicted Andrea Shaw on two first-degree murder charges, alleging she killed her 18-month-old twins by suffocation in May 2025.
The twins were found dead in a shared bed in Northgate Mobile Park in Payette, Idaho. At the time, Payette Police Department said they were treating the case as a homicide.

Just days after their children died, Shaw and her husband went on a podcast funded by Children's Health Defense, an anti-vaccine group previously led by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., now the Secretary of the U.S. Health and Human Services, in which Andrea Shaw claimed vaccines were to blame for their deaths.

Remember this thing from way back when?

Evidently two years ago some employees from Ebay, including the company's former safety & security director, received jail sentences after they started sending threatening and bizarre packages to the home of a journalist who had written a story the company didn't like. Just now the company itself has also been found liable for the harassment campaign and was fined.
Yesterday the harassed journalists won a settlement from eBay in a civil suit they filed after the criminal case, and it is substantial.

eBay will pay $46.15 million in compensation to the Steiners, announced Scalli Murphy Law, the Steiners’ law firm. The settlement includes another $2 million in compensation from former eBay CEO Devin Wenig, $500,000 from former eBay Senior Vice President of Global Operations Wendy Jones, and $50,000 from former eBay Chief Communications Officer Steve Wymer.

eBay will give $6 million to various charities, while “Wenig will contribute an additional $1 million to a charity dedicated to protecting First Amendment rights in the name of Ina Steiner,” the announcement said. The law firm said that additional “settlements were reached with all other eBay employees named in the civil action.” eBay reported $3.1 billion in revenue and $512 million in net income in its most recent quarterly report.
Holy smoke. If I'm looking at these numbers right, the amount of the settlement that's coming out of eBay's own pockets is around like 8% of its income this year, which to my thinking (I could be mistaken) is an unheard of amount of money for a corporate payout in the US. Keep in mind that eBay was only fined $3 million over this same incident. Obviously they would have lost the civil suit in court if it had gone there, no question, but just think how dire they felt things were to be willing to offer a settlement this size.

You wanna hear something wild?

RFKjr's anti-vax thingamabob included this lady's dead kids' case in a lawsuit they filed over vaccines. Now that she's been formally charged with their deaths, that lawsuit has been amended to include the "false charges" as evidence of the harm she continues to suffer after the evil vaccines killed both her kids at exactly the same time.

LAPD officer who recorded colleagues' sexist, racist, and homophobic remarks before reporting them to Internal Affairs for harassment is being charged with felony eavesdropping

Officer Daniel Flores, who filed a harassment lawsuit against the city of LA in June that made detailed allegations against his supervisor and others, was charged Friday by the LA County District Attorney's Office with 16 felony counts of eavesdropping on, or recording, confidential communications.

“It doesn’t matter where you work or who you are – a neighbor, a coworker or, in this case, a police officer. Your right to privacy in a confidential conversation is protected, no matter who is doing the recording or, with few exceptions, why they are doing the recording," DA Nathan Hochman said in the statement.

"For those illegal eavesdroppers, please know that my office will prosecute them for their actions surreptitiously recording others."
Flores' defense attorney notes that Flores never leaked or released the recordings to anyone in the public. He gave them to Internal Affairs and no one else. Now he's the only one facing any consequences. There's no indication that the officers that were the subject of Flores' complaint were even investigated over it.

The U.S. military is again (still?) experimenting on American civilian targets.

Four people — two pilots, two medical crew — died when a Trans Aero MedEvac Beechcraft King Air 90 struck the Capitan Mountains near Ruidoso, New Mexico, in the early hours of May 14, 2026. The NTSB's preliminary report, released June 18, confirmed what aviation watchers feared: military GPS jamming from White Sands Missile Range was active at the flight's altitude and location. The crew had been briefed on the jamming through their ForeFlight pre-flight package. Knowing a threat exists and being equipped to survive it are two very different things.
Six minutes after departing Roswell Air Center, the crew told Albuquerque Center their GPS was gone. RNAV approaches were useless. They requested radar vectors for an ILS approach, a non-GPS backup. But ATC was juggling multiple aircraft also blinded by jamming, and delayed vectors by several minutes. The King Air overshot its landing pattern by roughly 10 miles while waiting — a solvable problem compounding fast.
