I have to play the Devil's advocate here.

If I understand the infamous leaked draft right, the argument is that the 14th Amendment does not cover the abortion question in any unambigious way. That is a very valid argument and it's the lawmakers' responsibility, not the supreme court's to correct this through "appropriate legislation" as stipulated in the Amendment's fifth section.

So, the original ruling was made on the provision for privacy; that since privacy is granted by the constitution, it could not be violated to govern what women do with their health.

This saem section was also used to rule that it couldn't be made illegal for two people of the same gender to have sex, or get married.

I looked that up and the language on ectopic pregnancies was struck out on Mar 22, I don't know how soneone posting on May 5th would have used the old language unless it got put back in somehow.

I'd like to know how it got there in the first place, and who was the mentally deranged asshole who put it there!

I had it out with a woman (I'm assuming) who decided to get into an argument with me about my pro-choice stance. When she came out and basically said that pregnancy was punishment for women who spread their legs and should carry the result of their choice, I just couldn't with her.

Infertile straight couples may be more numerous, but if gay and lesbian couples can work through the challenges of surrogacy... straights can darned well manage it too.

It should be one of the first fundamental rights of personhood: "Every child born deserves to be wanted by a parent (preferably two) capable and committed to raising it, and shouldn't be forced into becoming a person without them."
