The horrifying thing is that all this was so predictable -- I knew what would be the inevitable outcome of the abortion bans in Texas and elsewhere, not because I have any particular expertise in the matter but because, like most people, I would imagine, I have friends and relatives who, over the years, have shared with me their experiences of pregnancies that have gone wrong.

The sequel will probably be better.

I hate when I come late to Twitter and almoat reply.

So I will post it here.

I absolutely hate the stupid bull shit argument by Gun Nuts that "ReGuLaTeD mEaNt ArMeD." or that "People called them regulars".

Bull shit.

Bull fucking shit.

The word "Regulate" appears like a dozen times elsewhere in the constitution in some form, and every time it refers to "laws restricting".

But apparently this ONE TIME because its convenient to support the fetish of some fucking paranoid jackass who NEEDs to own a hundred automatic weapons, it "means something else".

Yup. Between looking at my family tree, remembering when abortion sates were actually at the lowest, and spending several months staying with a nurse and reading her text books on, among other things, pregnancy. And even without physical issues, there are the mental issues. Though i'd also say there is no such thing as a pregnancy without issues; because the baby is doing damage inside regardless. [another argument against intelligent design]

Dr. Valerie Williams, an obstetrician-gynecologist in New Orleans, said in a sworn affidavit this month that a hospital lawyer prevented her from using the preferred method — known as dilation and evacuation — to remove a nonviable fetus from a patient whose water broke at 16 weeks.

“Going back into that hospital room and telling the patient that she would have to be induced and push out that fetus was one of the hardest conversations I’ve ever had,” Williams wrote.

The patient lost nearly a liter of blood and “was screaming — not from pain, but from the emotional trauma,” the affidavit said. “This was the first time in my 15-year career that I could not give a patient the care they needed. This is a travesty.”
We're entering a nightmare period of American history, and it's exactly the scenario the anti-abortion monsters have been begging for.

“PROJECT BLITZ” SEEKS TO DO FOR CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM WHAT ALEC DOES FOR BIG BUSINESS

The bills are seemingly unrelated and range widely in content—from requiring public schools to display the national motto, “In God We Trust” (IGWT); to legalizing discrimination against LGBTQ people; to religious exemptions regarding women’s reproductive health. The model bills, the legislative strategy and the talking points reflect the theocratic vision that’s animated a meaningful portion of the Christian Right for some time. In the context of Project Blitz’s 116-page playbook, however, they also reveal a sophisticated level of coordination and strategizing that echoes the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), which infamously networks probusiness state legislators, drafts sample legislation, and shares legislative ideas and strategies.

Jesus Fuck.

I saw this earlier today and made a comment about how this is just so men don't have to compete with women for things anymore... and that I wondered when they'll start trying to execute widows and women who can't have babies anymore.

"Blitz" AKA "Blitzkrieg"

They're unironically likening their plans to the Nazi war strategy of achieving a quick victory by using rapid, overwhelming force.
Could also be quoting an American Football term - blitz, where the defense rushes the quarterback to interrupt a passing attempt and to set the other side off balance (a term most Americans are familiar with being associated with our weird version of football). It doesn't always have to go all the way back to a weird Austrian failed painter.

That football term also goes back to WW2.
