2009?
The last time I logged in was 2013 (I think may be later.) I am just gonna have to delete my whole inventory and start over aren't I?

Thanks to BOM you could re-use old skins and tattoos.. SL has changed a lot since then tho... once you see it I doubt you'd want to use your old stuff

Please tell me there's a way to COPY an outfit, not just create a new folder full of links.

I would really like to make a safe copy of what I'm wearing so I can edit it WITHOUT breaking all the other outfits that use the same huds/body/head/hair/ears/tail, etc.

I've got like 30+ things on.

Do I really have to { Pick a link -> Show Original -> Copy -> Paste -> navigate back to the next link } x30+ ?
Because that really sucks. :(

ETA: I guess from the silence that I'm stuck with manually copying each individual attachment separately. *barf*

I don't know any way to do that Jopsy. I just make folders for complete outfits and make copies of each item to put in it.

wear outfit, save as new one... faster

use FF's replace link to bulk edit updates
I think you mis-understood what I was asking for. I want the option to have "Save Outfit As" do what it -used- to do before it got changed to do links.

I very very much want to pull together A COPY of all 30+ things I'm wearing into a folder that isn't (yet) linked to anything, so that if I go wild and absolutely wreck my avatar with experimentation... I can nuke the folder and ALL MY OTHER outfits are completely unaffected by any changes I made.

If I like the changes, then I can use replace links to update my other outfits, bit by bit.

----------------

And completely unrelated... not sure where else to post this. I'm playing around with a photo project... trying to see if I can get SecondLife to go 'fish-eye lens' enough turn this into a 3d representation of M.C.Esher's "High and Low" etching.

(I needed a break from scripting, so I'm throwing prims around like a mad monkey. :)

Not I'm aware of.
I usually open up two inventory windows, set the source to "Worn", and copy and past items one by one.
All my commonly used clothing and body parts are copied into a structured directory tree to try and keep things organised.

If we can rejig the entire graphics system to deal with non-Euclidean geometry... not sure how the transformation matrices would look like.

That would speed things up... except it doesn't let me copy something while it's being worn. :S
(maybe that's something firestorm allows.. once they've got an EEP compatible version I'll try it out.)

Yeah... I've been using Ctrl-8 to adjust focus (fish-eye) so far, but it only goes so far. (ctrl-0 is the opposite, ctrl-9 resets if you're not familiar with it, it's great for working on tiny prims).

Unless I can increase the wide-angle view more through scripted camera controls or the advanced/debug menu options... I'm pretty sure I'll have to stitch the over image to the under image using photoshop. But I'm okay with that as long as I get somewhat close. :) It's not for anything just something I've wanted to try for a while. :)

You'll need at least six photos to achieve that, and some pretty nifty stitching skills (though Adobe Lightroom or PTGui can do it for you.) You should set your original camera position towards the base of the building, then tilt up (no other axis should change) and take images enough times till you're facing straight up. Keeping the same lens relative position from the building you should move up and take the same number of images tilting down till you see the floor facing straight down. Then you can stitch them together.

Use your inventory to manage outfits instead of using the "outfits" feature.

To get started... try going to the "worn" tab, selecting everything, <COPY>, making a folder under "clothing" for the outfit, select it, <PASTE>

You can copy something being worn, at least in Firestorm, but it'll copy the version in inventory if you've made changes to it since you last put it on.

I have never found that to work! I'll have to try again.

Use your inventory to manage outfits instead of using the "outfits" feature.
Best method I've come up with is using the Outfits window plus two Inventory windows.
1) Pick next item from Outfits and do "Show Original"
2) Copy the item from Inventory Window 1
3) Paste the item into the destination folder that Window 2 is navigated to.
4) Click on inventory window 1 again so that the next show original will update it, not the the destination window.

This way both the source and destination stay put and don't have to be navigated back to after every iteration.

AFTER all this is done the first time... gawd so much easier. Multi-select everything in the outfit while it's not being worn and paste it all into a new folder. (or just copy/paste the folder).

You can copy something being worn, at least in Firestorm, but it'll copy the version in inventory if you've made changes to it since you last put it on.
That's more than fine. Thanks!

I use this all the time when I've accidentally some attachment and want to undo the screwup. Copy, paste, detach, attach, delete the broken original.
