The White House itself represents America, that's why it doesn't need big flagpoles standing in front of it. It's like putting a US flag in front of a bigger and fancier US flag to obscure it.

The only kind of person who'd think this was necessary is someone who needs labels on their shoes to know which one goes on the right foot and which one goes on the left foot.

There's a flag on top of it already. There's already a flag. There doesn't need to be ten more of the same flag, what is even the point?

Dude -- it takes at least two big-ass US flags just to adequately patriot-ize a lifted 1986 RAM 1500 diesel pickup (w/rusted out exhaust system.)

To be fair, they apparently also compensate for certain inadequacies.

I find America to be obsessed with talking about America and Americans.

If a british politician said something like "We want our system to better reward hard working people"
an American politician would say "We want America to work better for hard working Americans"

It's like they are worried you might either forget what county you're in. Or you may think they are talking about some other nation that you govern and some other group of people that live there. Or that the word people might be just too inclusive and risk including someone who isn't waving a US flag. Ive never noticed other nations continuously refer to their own nationality so much, specially when not talking in a global context.

Yes, that and basically every politician here is required to say they believe in American Exceptionalism in one form or another. NOT acceptable to admit we are just another country.... that would be deeply blasphemous.

Jeff Bezos is getting married this week in a lavish wedding filled with famous guests that’s rumored to cost as much as $75 million. The Amazon founder and his bride-to-be, Lauren Sanchez, have arrived in Venice, Italy, for the celebration, but protesters have already derailed some of their plans. Specifically, activists threatened to fill the Venice canals with inflatable animals to make sure that guests would be unable to get around.

Activists with Greenpeace, No Space for Bezos, and a UK-based group called Everyone Hates Elon have all been making their displeasure known this week, with a large banner unfurled in St. Mark’s Square reading, “If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more tax.”
But the main victory that protesters are claiming thus far is forcing Bezos to change venues for the wedding reception, which was originally slated for Scuola Grande della Misericordia (Old School of Mercy), a 16th-century church and meeting building. Organizers from No Space for Bezos told the BBC they’d gotten the venue moved to the Venetian Arsenal after saying they would fill the canals with inflatable crocodiles, flamingos, ducks, and unicorns.
Well done, crew.

Abject cowardice and extreme hostility towards principles the U.S. is founded on. These are the traits of the MAGA movement.

MAGA Republican groups are calling for the deportation of New York City Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani.

On Wednesday, the day after the 33-year-old democratic socialist handily secured his party’s nomination, the New York Young Republican Club, or NYYRC, took to X, begging Trump immigration advisers Stephen Miller and Tom Homan to revoke Mamdani’s U.S. citizenship and deport him.
