Six Republican lawmakers have sent a letter to Canada’s ambassador calling for action on the wildfires sending smoke billowing across the international border into their states.

In a Tuesday letter to Ambassador to the U.S. Kirsten Hillman, representatives Tom Tiffany, Brad Finstad, Tom Emmer, Michelle Fischbach, Glenn Grothman and Pete Stauber of Wisconsin and Minnesota said their constituents are coping with suffocating smoke from Canadian wildfires.

“As we are entering the height of the fire season, we would like to know how your government plans on mitigating wildfires and the smoke that makes its way south,” the letter said.
Maybe Canada can build a wall along the border to keep the smoke from crossing over. And then have America pay for it.

Fox News’ resident “comedian” Greg Gutfeld declared Tuesday that conservatives “need to learn from the Blacks” and “remove the power from the n-word” by referring to themselves as Nazis, prompting critics to call the host “beneath contempt” for his “normalization of Nazism.”
“This is why the criticism doesn’t matter to us when you call us Nazis. Nazi this and Nazi that. You know, I’m beginning to think they don’t like us,” he sneered. “You know what? I’ve said this before. We need to learn from the Blacks.”

Gutfeld continued: “The way they were able to remove the power from the n-word by using it. So, from now on, it’s, ‘What up, my Nazi? Hey, what up, my Nazi? Hey, what’s hanging, my Nazi?'”
He want's to "reclaim" Nazi as their personal n-word? Dude, you can't reclaim what you never lost. But I don't see an issue here. Gutfeld wants to publicly own up to his fascism. He obviously considers it so deep in his makeup, it's like being black - he was born in that skin.

At colleges in Texas, the First Amendment only applies during business hours.

Texas has banned talking on college campuses at night. Seriously. | Opinion
Update: This article was published on June 5. Since then, Gov. Greg Abbott has signed Senate Bill 2972 into law. It will take effect Sept. 1.
Texas lawmakers trying to muzzle campus protests have just passed one of the most ridiculous anti-speech laws in the country. If signed by Gov. Greg Abbott, Senate Bill 2972 would ban speech at night — from study groups to newspaper reporting — at public universities in the state.

Ironically, the bill builds on a previous law passed in 2019 meant to enshrine free speech on Texas campuses. But now, lawmakers want to crack down on college students’ pro-Palestinian protests so badly that they literally passed a prohibition on talking.

We’re not exaggerating. SB 2972 would require public universities in Texas to adopt policies prohibiting “engaging in expressive activities on campus between the hours of 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.” Expressive activity includes “any speech or expressive conduct” protected by the First Amendment or Texas Constitution.

This happened on Friday, but I guess all the Trump/Epstein news flooded it out of the pipeline (I heard about it Saturday, but it got me laughing so much I didn't think to post about it).

I'm posting it here, even though we all know it indirectly relates to the ongoing Trump/Epstein scandal.

Gabbard threatens prosecution against Obama administration officials for ‘treasonous conspiracy’
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard called for several Obama administration officials to face criminal prosecution for participating in a “treasonous conspiracy” surrounding the 2016 election on Friday afternoon, the latest example of the Trump administration targeting critics of the president.

In a newly declassified report, Gabbard on Friday alleged the officials “manipulated and withheld” key intelligence from the public related to the possibility of Russian interference in the election.

In a Friday afternoon statement, Gabbard said she would provide all related documents to the Justice Department “to deliver the accountability that President [Donald] Trump, his family, and the American people deserve.”

AI bots and MAGA politics. A lovely mix.

A previously unreported network of hundreds of accounts on X is using artificial intelligence to automatically reply to conservatives with positive messages about people in the Trump administration, researchers say.
But with the MAGA movement split over the administration’s handling of files involving deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the accounts’ messaging has broken, offering contradictory statements on the issue and revealing the AI-fueled nature of the accounts.

The network, tracked for NBC News by both the social media analytics company Alethea and researchers at Clemson University, consists of more than 400 identified bot accounts, though the number could be far larger, the researchers say. Its accounts offer consistent praise for key Trump figures, particularly support for Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
As often is the case with bot accounts, those viewed by NBC News tended to have only a few dozen followers, and their posts rarely get many views. But a large audience does not appear to be the point. Their effectiveness, if they have any, is in the hope that they contribute to a partisan echo chamber, and that en masse they can “massage perceptions,” said Darren Linvill, the director of Clemson University’s Media Forensics Hub, which studies online disinformation campaigns.

'Full panic mode': New report confirms Trump-related 'Epstein cover-up at FBI'

According to Gill, "First, approximately 1,000 personnel in the Information Management Division (IMD) and the FBI New York Field Office were assigned to this task, confirming the whistleblower account made to Senator Durbin’s office. I can also confirm that a log exists tracking the mentions of Donald Trump in the files, and that there were approximately 100,000 files containing roughly 300,000 pages. Individual analysts were told to flag mentions of Trump by document and page number by logging them in an Excel spreadsheet, then they’d hand in their spreadsheet at the end of their (sometimes 24 or even 48-hour) shift. But it’s important to note that the agents were not told to flag Trump until later in a process that began mid-March."

Going further, she reports, "The process of reviewing the Epstein and Maxwell files was chaotic, and the orders were constantly changing - sometimes daily."
